Also, another cool thing: I called the old VP of the state (my boss's former boss) as he previously agreed to be a reference for me. Not only did he tell me that he would give me an outstanding reference, he offered me a job in NYC if I wanted to relocate!
Okay, the following is going to sound strange and totally old cat lady-esque, but bear with me.
So I've always liked my cat, but sometimes she makes me VERY frustrated, because she wakes me up a lot at night and I just wanted to go the fuck to sleep. etc etc. I never luuuuurved her.
It took awhile, but now I know her patterns and reasoning behind being a certain way (gets hyper if I'm gone longer than usual because she lays low without company and then has a ton of energy, etc) and now we have a pattern for sleep time and it works. And now I know what scares her and what she loves to do, and I don't know. I really love my kitty now. It's transitioned from yeah, she's okay to I LOVE THIS LITTLE BEAST WHO IS SWEET AND CUDDLY AND ANNOYING AT THE SAME TIME.
My MIL's cat (at least part Siamese) ignores her if she's gone longer than usual. He gives her the silent treatment, cold shoulder, won't come when he's called, and everything.
My little Bengal, on the other hand, is all over me when I get home from anywhere (because I work from home and I'm always here it's weird to her when I'm not). She FREAKS when furniture gets moved. We moved a lamp from one room to another once and she howled for hours.
Once you get to know the cuddly little jerks, though, it's really hard not to love them

This is the best idea yet.
I asked P. He doesn't want to move there. DTMFA, right?

Today totally seemed like a Monday. People just randomly took the day off and I didn't know and we all share the responsibility of answering the phone so I was up and down a lot. Also we have a new girl who really made a mess of the stuff I asked her to scan, and offered no explanation or anything which is a huge pet peeve of mine. In really nice and helpful if you ask. If you just return something and it looks like it's been on fire and don't offer any info, I guess hoping I don't notice? Then I get annoyed.
Spending my evening tonight baking brownies for someone in the department who is moving to a different building tomorrow. So I have to probably keep an eagle eye on my kiddo that he doesn't try to steal my treats!
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
