Eh, it happens. I had a false alarm with both my first AND my 2nd. First time was contractions brought on by being dehydrated. Second was when I thought my water was leaking, but it wasn't. (though it did break at home the next day)
Oh, no! Sorry it's not the real thing. I never went into labor on my own, so I was absolutely clueless on what it would feel like. It seemed that I was super analyzing every tiny twinge I had, though, for weeks and weeks. Probably owe yourself an awesome breakfast now.
Been there, done that. You certainly aren't alone and shouldn't be embarassed! I ended up in L&D at 29 weeks with my 3rd which my husbands likes to call "the most expensive glass of water I've ever bought."
You're not alone. We went in too early with DS2 (but not DS1). We called it the walk of shame when they had me walk around the unit for an hour. If sucked.
Don't be embarrassed! I bet they see it all the time. And like others have said, better to be safe. When is your edd? I can't believe it's almost time!
If it makes you feel any better, my false alarm happened when I thought my water was leaking. In reality, I had peed myself.
My sister did this, too!
EDD is 6/18 but Lucy was a few days early too (since that's the question I was most often asked yesterday lol).
I feel better today, I was really feeling off the whole day yesterday. But I'm glad I did t have the baby yet- lucys birthday party is Sunday and she has sibling class Saturday. But next week is her recital weekend, omg!
I did the same! I had to do the walk of shame, suitcase in tow, past the same set of waiting grandparents who gave me an excited "Good luck! Congratulations!" on the way in.

I told my OB I felt like a FTM on Friday. I have no idea what is what. She reminded me each pregnancy is different. Each labor is different. It's better to be safe and get checked out, than having a baby on the freeway.

I was told multiple times how good it was that I "listened to my instincts" and came in to get checked when I thought my water had broken, since it had! Better to be safe!!
My water did break and I really thought I had just peed myself until I started bleeding an hour later. Everyone said it was unlikely for water to break before contractions and I didn't keep leaking like everyone said would happen.

Yes exactly.
Or better than trying to check how dilated you are yourself,
One girl youtubed how to check yourself, then attempted to do it, but she cut herself with her fingernail, so subsequently freaked out about vaginal bleeding and came in to triage.
