Am I one of the only soles left who prefers working on a desktop over a laptop?
I have both and they are side by side and always on but I much prefer doing my actual work on the desktop. I am not sure, something about the larger size just makes me feel more comfortable.
I don't work so this is at home. I will never not have a desktop. I love them so much.
I have a lot of computers. We have a two desktops. One is normal for regular stuff, the other is used as a server that holds all our media and we access via an old laptop that is used essentially as our Media box for our TV and to record cable shows. Then I have a mac laptop that is for all the random crap I do. So I have too many electronics.

Starries, I love your bedspread! neonpink, hope your hand is ok!
DH has a desktop that work gave him at home...he prefers that to his laptop, because his is old and slow. I haven't had a desktop since undergrad, and I generally don't mind...my laptop has a 17" screen, so it's pretty big and easy to see (albeit heavy!). At work, I have a desktop with two screens, and I definitely miss the second screen when I'm working remotely at home on my laptop. But for entertainment purposes, the laptop is fine.
This brother is almost ten years younger than me. I'm terrified to go because I might make waves. I'm terrified to not go because I might make waves.
And I always feel strangely obligated to do whatever it takes to make my family happy. Say yes to every request and agree with every opinion.
I want to be able to just go and be myself and maybe start a meaningful relationship with my younger brother. If my goal is good and positive, nothing bad can happen...right?

DS2 caught fireflies outside. He was chasing one shouting "lighty! Come back!"
And the boys both got lessons in "if you hurt someone, you apologize". Both lost their outside time for a bit because "boys who hurt people don't get to play with other people.". In order to gain it back, they had to calm down, apologize and give me a hug. And they both did. Time outs aren't working anymore, so we'll see how well this works.
Also, I'm home from my date. It went really well, even though he was kind of interviewing me at one point (I called him out on it, it was fine). It felt like I already knew him. I was comfortable and I think he relaxed pretty quickly too. I'm still smiling. After dessert and lemonade, we sat talking for a long time and then ended up going for a walk in the nearby park, sitting on a bench, and talking some more.
I was the first to initiate physical contact, putting my hand on his elbow. Oh! When we were sitting in the park we discovered that we share a birthday! Pretty funny. And then, when he walked me back to my car, he kissed me. I wish he'd done it in the dark-ish park instead of on a sidewalk with people walking by. He's a good kisser. And then some random man asked him if he could pay to kiss me. This weird guy offered $100. I told him I'm not for rent not am I for sale, since my date just saying no wasn't getting anywhere. And then he tried several more times. WTF weird dude?!?
Overall a really nice date and I'm looking forward to seeing him again. Also, still smiling.
Haha! I've got lots of time with her - until September to decide or to fall more in love.
Please. I predict you don't make it until the end of July
Hahahaha. I've barely made it the week. My coordinator called me last night and was like, "Now J, is this dog ever going to leave your house or what??" I'm taking her to Boston with me for a week and a half.
That's really fucking weird tiramisu! I'm glad your date went well otherwise
It was so weird and so fucking creepy. I wish I'd yelled at him, but it probably wouldn't have helped the situation. This is what I told my friend I wish I'd said: What the fuck creepy random dude!! NO!! I AM NOT FOR SALE OR RENT! I AM NOT A COMMODITY TO BE BOUGHT AND SOLD! THE MAN STANDING NEXT TO ME DOES NOT HAVE A SAY IN WHAT I DO WITH MY BODY SO DON'T ASK HIM!
