And now my tinfoil ht theory, though not a strong one, is this is why the errors are being touted...20th century, etc. could give an easy out. Otherwise, not sure how that would work well.
So, apart from her not being willing to take the spot and the whole "why are you dropping Biden" thing, what are the drawbacks to this ticket?
One good thing about Hillary is that I highly doubt she has any more skeletons. She has been in the public eye for so long and I am quite confident that if she had any dirty secrets, they would have been unearthed long ago.
My opinion of her has gone up significantly in the past 4 years.
Completely agree. Just because of where I grew up, I sort of had a natural skepticism of her when she initially ran against Obama. And then the primary race got bitter.
I did start to come around a bit after reading her memoir.
But holy hell has she been a badass as Secretary of State. I love her.
But I don't see it happening. I'd be thrilled to be wrong, but I'm with heyjude on this one.
There's no way they can replace Biden on the ticket. If that were their aim, they wouldn't have sent him out on the campaign trail for the past several months. Also, I believe Hillary when she says she's not interested.
And if this was going to happen it would have happened long ago, not a few short months from the election. Plus there is no need for Obama to throw a hail Mary at this point. Plus does this ever happen in modern times? C'mon people. You are better than this.

This. They wouldn't have said that Biden is on the ticket - he would have announced he wasn't running as VP again MONTHS ago. (Which is usually a bad move, but if it WERE Hilary, it would be a benefit.) I know they haven't been to the convention yet, but it's much too close now. I'd be surprised if they could even switch out his name on the ballot in some states.

Yep. I would love Hil as VP, but I just don't see it happening.
And then all sorts of dramatic things have to occur, including multiple near-death experiences, because that's what happens when the grizzled veteran agrees to stick around for one last gig. I watch the movies! I know how this goes!

It would definitely include the line "I'm too old for this shit"
He will say he has cancer or something. I believe it could happen. Who would you rather have debate Ryan?
they'd both be absolutely fine.
Yeah. I know everyone loves some Biden gaffes, but remember when he was actually running for President in the primaries? He was fine at debating in that crowd. He was fine in the VP debate in '08 (... even though his debate partner was Sarah Palin, he was more than competent). I feel like everyone's favorite joke is what a buffoon Biden is, but he's really a classy, veteran politician, who has had much success in his life (bootstraps!). Hell, he was elected to the Senate when he was 29. He's done SOME things right.
