Ugh, I just want to complain that it's going to be broiling here this week. Like, 33C. This would be fine if London was conveniently located near a beach, but it's not. Instead, the concrete heats everything even more, and the pollution traps it, causing an oven effect and leaving us to stew in our own juices. Beautiful, historical buildings? Poorly insulated and suffocating. Our 19th century sewer system sends up nasty fumes. Feeling sick is awful, but feeling sick in the heat is even worse.
I'm wearing fitted clothes to work today. Between a week of vacation eating and my mini bump, it's going to be a long day of sucking in!
Yea, I wore fitted clothes last week and it was awful! Mainly just really uncomfortable. It doesn't help that my clothes were all borderline tight before the BFP.
I ordered some bra extenders, I'm not ready to switch to a maternity bra yet. As for my clothes, I'm seriously jamming out some jeggings like it's my job.

I switched to maternity/nursing bras around 13 weeks and haven't looked back. They definitely aren't sexy, but they are super comfy. But then again my boobs grew significantly during first tri and I was starting to feel like the life was being squeezed out of me. Don't fight a new bra if your normal ones start getting too tight. No sense in being uncomfortable. Same goes for trying to squeeze into normal pants when maternity ones are much more comfortable (typically).
91 (had to convert) seems awfully hot for London loira. Do buildings have AC?
Shops, offices and cinemas do. Most others do not. Our flat definitely doesn't, but I manage to keep it relatively cool during the day. I've instructed H that he is not to work at his office tomorrow (the hottest day) - it's on the 5th floor of an old university building and it doesn't have AC or even good airflow.

I switched to $5 Walmart soft cup stretchy bras at like 5 weeks. No regrets. I do have extenders for the occasional time that I need a fancier bra or more support, but these are my every day ones. So comfy.

Thanks pooh8402 and @g22! I think I might do that! My quick fix was just to order a huge pack of extenders (it was $5 on amazon) so if that doesn't work, I'm off to wally world! I need more stretchy pants- I gained about 10lbs between the clomid and progesterone, but while some of the weight went away none of the bloat seems to have!
I think there's a big sale at the local outlets- maybe I can sneak into one of the maternity stores without someone seeing me!
So other than our awesome ultrasound that I almost vomited in because I was so freaking nervous we met with our nurse since our re was triple booked and found out we have been released to the regular ob. I am both excited and terrified. Our re was very sad that she didn't get to see us and called dw and they had a real nice chat. I am sad that we didn't get to say goodbye but will send a card or fruit basket or something since the whole staff was so great.
We have an intake appointment with the nurse on the 14th and an actual ob appointment on the 21st. That is so far away!! We decided to go with the ob we used with dd before I got sick and had to move to the other hospital. We liked her fine and we are trusting that we will be fine at the smaller local hospital. We will be referred to the Mfm at some point soon so that will make me feel better. I can't believe I have to wait three weeks to see a doctor. At least we will be 10 weeks by then and if I remember correctly we got an u/s at our first appointment.
numbers tripled again today so that was really nice to hear! I told my best friend that I'm pregnant and she started jumping up and down and was so excited which made me happy but I'm still very cautious.
Tentative u/s on July 8th-ish. It seems so far away!! But I mapped out when I would have all the 1st tri ultrasounds and I would basically have one every 2 weeks which is ideal for me and my high anxiety. After that probably just every 4 weeks for piece of mind. We will see though, I'm hoping to be much less anxious than I was with DD. I know working out helps that so my plan is to keep that us as long as possible!
I would LOVE to sleep right now and bank some sleep hours. I'm getting up 3 times a night right now due to my bladder or contractions.
One thing I've heard people say a few times is that, even if you're not getting as much sleep with a newborn, your sleep is of higher quality than it is when you're very pregnant. So at least there's that.
This is true. You'll get no sleep with a newborn but will pretty much pass out when you do. I wouldn't even hear H leave for work but the second a baby cried I woke up. You survive though

Good news! We're measuring 7w1d yesterday when a week before we were 5w6d! We got a HB of 118, which seems a bit low to me, but no one seemed worried.
We're GRADUATED to the OB! Unforutnatley, I don't have an OB in the area, so I'm flying a bit blind since most of my friends weren't thrilled with theirs. I did end up getting a good reco from my friend who reco'd my RE so I feel good about that- we see the OB next week!
Feeling a lot better about things this week and I went back to running this morning. I'm running a race this weekend but I think it's going to be a lot of run/walking. I plan to take it easy and have fun!

Our due dates are so close! So exciting! From what I have read your hr is totally normal. Try not to stress about it. I hear you on the ob front. We went with the ob I used for dd primarily because we didn't know of any other good options. glad you are feeling better this week. Knowing that there is a healthy heart beat really helped at least for a few days.
I'm currently 8w, 5d. We had our first midwife appt on Tuesday, even though I'm not "released" from the RE yet. She did a quick ultrasound so I could see the heart beating again. I was proud that I didn't hysterically cry like what happened last week.
I'm still getting bloodwork every week to check progesterone. I'm still on nightly vaginal suppositories and I'm looking forward to seeing the RE again next week. Depending on progesterone numbers, I may be released.
Yesterday I got a letter in the post telling me that some of my blood work had been mislabelled, so now I have to go back in and have them retake it. Ugh, such a pain. Also, I love how they sent me this information in a LETTER. I mean, it was sent first class post, but I don't understand why they couldn't just call me.
It was SO hot last night, and I don't know if the cramps I had were in my guts (the heat doesn't agree with them) or in my ute. I tried to keep cool all day, and drink lots of water, but of course I started panicking that the heat might cause something to go wrong. I have to remind myself that I am a mammal, not a lizard, and that plenty of people who live in tropical places and who don't have a/c manage to have babies.

That stinks about the bloodwork. You just made me crack up about the mammal line. Sorry you are having a rough time with the heat. Can you go and hang out at a museum or something to keep cool today?

loira, the heat on top of being sick sounds miserable. But yeah, unless you're heating up your body temperature to 102 degrees, my understanding is that being hot isn't a problem. I'd be more concerned with staying hydrated, which it sounds like you're already focusing on. I hope the heat wave breaks soon!
Thanks ssg73 and cactuscookie, it's not nearly so hot today though it's supposed to climb back up again this weekend. A museum sounds like a great idea. I've been avoiding going anywhere far from home in case I need to be sick, but we're only a few blocks from the British Museum so I might go there with H this weekend to get out of the heat.

We had our first prenatal and second ultrasound yesterday. I've spent the last week fairly certain things weren't progressing because my symptoms have started to fade but baby was in there floating away. The dr measured the HR a few times and said it's between 165 and 180. Even though it was involuntary, it was really cool to see the head bob and the limb fins wiggle. Hearing the heartbeat was unreal. I, of course, sobbed on the table again... My dr was really sweet and we scheduled my next appointment and the N/T scan but she said if I wanted/needed reassurance and couldn't wait 4 weeks to just call and they'll get me in for a quick peek sooner to help with anxiety. Due date was officially changed to 2/7 because they're using my LMP and baby's measurements instead of IUI date. We are big football fans and that's the super bowl so talking to all my family yesterday was very amusing.

Museums and movies are my A/C escapes. Do you have a window unit?

Omg no, I wish. Our flat is in a building that was built in 1950. They renovated it a couple of years ago, but because the other building the college owns is listed (built in 1930), they wanted both to have the same aesthetic. Obviously the other building can't have any major changes to the exterior, thus neither does our building, and we have single pane windows to 'match'. It's madness because they put a lot of supposed effort into making this building green, but then they put single pane windows in all the flats. Though to be honest, I can't think of any flats in London that have A/C, unless it's some millionaire's penthouse. It doesn't usually get much above 25C in the summer.

Ugh. We are fancy and have 2 window units. Getting the second one for the bedroom has honestly been life changing (sleep changing, anyhow). Our apt will regularly get to 85F or higher in the summer without A/C.
Oy loira, I hope you find some relief from the heat soon.
I had my final RE appointment this morning, and I'm officially graduated! The ultrasound went great, and the baby is measuring right on track. The woman doing the ultrasound took a lot of time to show us everything she could and chatted us up about when we're telling parents, what their grandparent names are, etc. We told her we're telling my parents this weekend, so she typed at the top of the ultrasound "Hi (grandparent names)! See you in January!" and printed it out for us which I thought was pretty sweet. My parents will love it. They sent us off with a Mayo Clinic book on pregnancy and a silver baby spoon.
NT scan is in 2 weeks, and I think my first OB appointment will be 4 weeks after that at 16 weeks.

I have been just exhausted this week, and yesterday my morning sickness was at its worst, leading to me throwing up just as we should have been walking out the door for my OB appointment!
My appointment went well; I'll see her every four weeks, with visits to the perinatalologist in between. I'll get to see my babies every two weeks! I'll see the perinatalologist next Thursday for my NT scan. I also had blood drawn for Verifi and expect those results next week. It's so exciting to be doing "pregnant things"! LOL
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
