So many hugs. DD was a little over that age when she had her last neurosurgery. I remember they gave her the "giggle juice" via IV to keep her calm and happy just before they took her back to do anesthesia, and it was such a strange sight because I was bawling and she was laughing and smiling like she'd never been that happy in her life! She bounced back pretty quickly at that age, a little disoriented and a scratchy throat upon wake-up but ready to play by the next day. I hope everything goes smoothly!

How scary. I'll be thinking of your family and sending quick healing thoughts to you little one. That urgent care doc was on the ball. I hope everything goes smoothly today and during his recovery.
Anecdote: An X-ray for possible pneumonia revealed a tumor when I was younger. It turned out to be a mostly regional, self ending disease. All it took was a round of antibiotics and the only thing I have to show for it is done scar tissue on my lungs and a scar from the biopsy.
I know it was really hard. The surgeon I worked with focused on naming the dragon so we could come up with a strategy. That was a powerful image to me.
You all will be very much in my thoughts and I wish you the best prognosis.
