Luke still won't nap in something besides my arms or carrier. While he's napping I can't do as much with Lil and she plays with the iPad a lot. I take it away when he's up but I feel guilty. What do you guys do if your baby naps like this? I don't know how to fix it. Plus he's been restless in his sleep the last few days and waking up squirming and crying during his nap and in the early morning , I think his tummy hurts or he has gas. I notice it happenes when I eat oatmeal for breakfast, is that even a thing!?
We have a lot of TV for this reason. It sucks. I've been trying to set her up with an art project or something but it only lasts so long. It's also soooo hot here that we are stuck inside most of the day. We just started swim and gymnastics and I figure the baby will nap there or in the car.
I know I've talked about this before, but I'm so tired of being tired. Every night, it's the same thing: Caleb sleeps in his own bed until anywhere between 10:30 and 2 (usually between 10:30 and midnight), when he wakes up and insists on sleeping in our bed. Rarely, I'm able to convince him to go back to sleep in his bed, but he always wakes up again at most a few hours later.
When he gets to our bed, sometimes it's a peaceful night, but most of the time I end up being woken up by him rolling into me, kicking me, asking for his water, etc.
When we got back from Florida, I decided to try something. I told him if he wanted his pacifier, he had to stay in his bed. I figured, I'd break him of one bad habit or the other. Well, it didn't go the way I wanted, and now he'll cheerfully toss his pacifier on his bed to get into ours.
Last night was just awful. He woke up before 10:30, wouldn't stay asleep in his bed, so Dh brought him in. He was restless for the next several hours, until 4, when he decided he wanted his pacifier. He agreed to go back to his bed, and seemed to be asleep. Twenty minutes later, he was up again, insisting on me and his pacifier (DH went in). I told DH to forget it and let him come in. At 5, Caleb was awake crying for a sandwich and insisting it was time to get up.
Poor Dh had to be up by 6. I'm able to sleep in a bit, but I have no idea what to do about this all. At what point does, "He'll grow out of it" actually happen?

I try with the projects too but they don't last long without me there like you said. We are doing music class so that will be fun at least. Sometimes I put him in he carrier for his nap so I can do things with her. It's hard!

Omg my kid is creepy! She's coloring next to me and says this: "Look mama! I color this fish with bloooood!" *holds up red marker while laughing hysterically* "but it's okay, it's just pretend!! It's not a real fish mama!" *more crazy laughing*
Last night d was playing while she was supposed to be going to sleep. I heard weird crying and mommy/daddy on the monitor so I went in and she was like "I was pretending the owls ATE you guys!!!!! And now I'm crying so I can get you back from the owl!"

Oh really? It's really limiting my healthy breakfast options! No dairy and now this? I keep thinking it's just a coincidence but I don't think it is.
I just tried using quinoa with extra liquid instead of oatmeal this morning and it turned out really well. bigapple mentioned that she had it for breakfast awhile back and it sounded good

I had to leave my house for exactly 45 minutes today to pick up Tyler from camp. That happens to be the exact timeframe that the great Muppet caper was passing by my house. I missed my chance to meet up and Andrew. boo!

Charlie was allergic to oats. He also broke out In Eczema patches when he had it. Which made me put oatmeal based lotion on it to soothe it. Which made it worse. Once I cut it out of his diet, my diet, and all products he got so much better.
My head is hurting today. I'm not sure if it's the weather? I feel bad because I think DH wanted sexy time while Andrew naps. He bought more condoms and lube on his way home from dropping Madison at daycare. Oops. Maybe after the childrens are in bed tonight if I feel better.

Calvin wouldn't nap off of me until 10 months. It was really hard. I would be stuck in a chair/on the couch, so I'd either try to play a game on the iPad with Lincoln or read to him/play matching cards, etc. You're doing the best you can.
Wow I got an appt for the lip tie but not until aug 24! I made an appt for both boys but A is on the cancelation list. I'm not planning to try to nurse so I feel bad taking an appt from someone who is nursing still but I want to get it looked at rxbeth I got a pic of Alex
jg183 - that looks like a pretty good lip tie to me. That's crazy that your appointment is so far out. I mean, if you aren't nursing, it isn't imperative to be seen ASAP but my dentist sees newborns ASAP and all babies within a week.
Baby is still breech (frank breech, apparently) and the tech estimated her weight at 7lb 3oz. What?! Maybe she can't turn because she is HUGE.
Caleb was the same way. Until week 36, he was sitting straight up so his head was popping out right under my sternum. Has your doctor talked about a version? You might consider spinning babies also. I don't know if that did it or he just flipped on his own, but I tried some and the morning of my version, he'd flipped around.
Grr. The state is supposed to release testing data to teachers today, but they don't tell you when. I love analyzing this stuff. My timehop tells me that it wasn't until about 8pm last year. Get with the program TN!!

OMG JIMMY FALLON'S FINGER! I am okay with blood and stuff but that picture made me gasp! The thread is on ML but don't look unless you're sure you want to see it.
So a few weeks ago W started freaking out when I tried to latch him on the left side. I started using the nipple shield again and that seemed to fix the problem. After a few days I tried again without it and he was fine. Now he is back to using it again and he seems to think he needs it on the right side too. He will latch without it, but not every time. It seems like he wants it just to comfort nurse. He was not really a comfort nurser before. I've tried giving him the pacifier in our nursing position and he takes it for a few minutes but then fusses. Ugh. The shield is such a pain and I really don't want to have to use it. I have to figure out how to get him to stop using it.

Oh yeah that was C's totally. She had a 4th degree tie. Our dentist got us in within 3 days. Can you call around?

YES!!! Holy shit, OW!!! Did you read the other possible drama? It makes me sad.
Yes! But unfortunately I believe it. I've seen leaked pics of him and Kirsten Dunst doing lines at a party before

DO NOT feel guilty. It's survival. Mila watched an insane amount of tv at 18 months old for the same reason.

imimahoney and rxbeth I could call around but this guy is well known and I don't think it's causing issues right now. He's gaining, drinks well from the bottle etc I think I'll just wait! Is there a reason I should right away if we don't nurse?

It can impact speech but that's not for awhile. I'd just wait then. The only thing is that the older yet are, the harder the procedure is on him.
Thanks for the advice fusionktstorm and irishsara . I will cut out the oats for now. It's crazy how many things kids/babies can react to! The quinoa is a great idea.
