We decided to change DDs bedtime from 7:30 to 6:30 on the advice of a close friend and so far it is working!!! I am so excited.
I think DS is mostly done his 6w feeding frenzy but I can't quite tell. He is the MESSIEST nurser ever...my feeding pillow is alway soaked and I suck at remembering to put a towel below his head.
DS and I had a great day! Met a friend for breakfast and then went to the zoo. Ran into two other families I knew - one of which I hadn't seen for a year so it was awesome to run into them. DS was so into the animals - it was awesome. The bad part was that the baby seemed to settle into my crotch or something. It was incredibly uncomfortable and walking around was awful. I just wanted to sit down so when we left I was like thank goodness I can sit in the car!! But still an awesome day!
I just realized that in 1 week I won't have to cook for 10 days (testing freezer recipes for when baby comes) and that is very exciting since I'm so tired by the end of the day.
I made DIY Clorox wipes and although they don't have bleach in them they work great & smell good too!
We got all out errands done today so we don't have to spend the rest of the weekend running around. I'm taking spinach dip to the BBQ we're going to tomorrow afternoon. I want to make it right now and eat it all!
Our new fridge came today and it is gloriously large. We moved the old one to the basement and it is now the beverage fridge - full of beer, seltzer, bottled root beer, and overflow stuff like extra OJ.
My family is coming tomorrow for a cookout and I should really be cleaning but we're laying on the couch instead.
We took the train into the city for the Welcome America festivities. We went to a park with a carousel and then to a food truck thing for lunch. The kids were great. Poor DD1, we were so busy that we forget to change her diaper. We were standing on the train getting ready to get off and she exclaimed, "I'm pee-peeing on the floor!" Yep. Right through her pull-up. Oops. Parents of the year.
Oh and somehow DH didn't secure the chairs on the trailer hitch rack well and they scratched the shit out of his tailgate. Wtf dude? I'm always telling him to secure everything.
Now we're probably going to have to have the whole tailgate repainted. It looks so bad.
Exciting night of laundry over here. I ran a bunch of errands today and was actually pretty productive.
Tomorrow after nap we're headed to the lake and I've got our bags all packed and ready to go, except for our new Costco beach towels that are in the dryer. I can't wait!
Oh! Can anyone recommend some good sandals for an active toddler? I bought some from Stride Rite that are leather and basically like his shoes but with holes. His feet smell absolutely disgusting when he takes them off. I need a different solution!
I saw a friend today who recently lost her young son to a battle with leukemia. I'm so fucking awkward and didn't know what to say or how to acknowledge it. Of course I made her cry in the middle of her store by saying that I was sorry for her loss. I've now sent her a slightly more eloquent fb message as an apology, but I'm just so sad for her. </3

We just got home from a bbq/crab feast. DD basically buried herself in the sandbox (even ate some, yuck!) and she is so nasty. Gave her a bath, but I know I am going to have to change her bedding tomorrow because there is so much sand still in her hair.
Is this what the beach will be like? :,( any suggestions for keeping the sand out of hair??
Absolutely! I learned last night that tWitch is in it, so now I'm even more on board. I'm out of town next weekend but I could maybe do this Weds after work?
I'll go! Funny you mention it because when we saw the preview about a week ago SO said "you're totally going to this with your internet lady friends, aren't you?"
Fireworks in the neighborhood have started. Ugh. DD doesn't care but one of our dogs is so scared right now.
I was texting with my neighbor telling her who was doing it and instead of using my husband's name I wrote "DH". Thankfully I caught that before I hit 'send'.
Adding to the things I didn't say before I had a kid: don't put your penis on the recliner!
lol. Today mine was "j, if you want to play with your penis you need to go in the bathroom or upstairs to your room. We don't play with our penises in the living room." Then he told me about how it's big. What happened to my baby?
DD has hand foot and mouth so it's been a rough few days. She seemed better today and was able to eat more. She has huge blisters inside her mouth, poor thing. Since I thought sucking on a bottle might hurt more than drinking out of a sippy I took the opportunity to get rid of bottles. Today was the first bottle free day and she was fine. She seems to drink more from a bottle but I figure if she's thirsty she'll drink.
I applied for a job that is very very much a longshot but the commute would be so nice, as would the money. I wouldn't have nearly as much flexibility as I do now so it's probably for the best.
I had my first client for my side business the other day and it went well. It would be nice to get that going.
We have a friend and her daughter staying with us. I'm over it. It's a weird situation where I'm one of her best friends but she's not one of mine. Our husbands are BFFs. But her husband didn't come...weird. Also, we didn't invite them, they asked to come. So awkward.
Plus her 7 year old keeps telling me that C hurt her feelings. Too bad kid - the 2 year old is never going to want to do exactly what you want to do exactly when you want to do it so STOP WHINING. I can't wait til Sunday at 6am when I'm driving them to the airport. I don't even care that it's at 6am.
We spent the day boating with my parents and DD. It was a blast. DD loved it. Now DH is putting her to bed and then we will hang out in our backyard to watch fireworks.
