I never really spent much time on TN's craft board, but I was wondering if there are any other origami or papercraft enthusiasts around?
I'm currently trying to (slowly) work my way through Robert J. Lang's Origami Design Secrets. I managed a decent hummingbird, but my heart with arrow was a small disaster!
I also led a team effort at work to turn our used Post-It notes into a 2000+ piece modular origami sculpture (which has since been completed and even presented at a software conference):
I can do cranes, jumping frogs and balloons by heart- I taught them to myself with a book from the library when I was in the 2nd grade and I guess I did those enough that they stuck with me. Fun party tricks and I can't tell you how many times those dumb frogs have saved us from a fussy meltdown when a restaurant takes too long and the kids are not at their best. The little paper rings they put around napkins are perfect for a little horde of them.
ETA: Very cool sculpture- that must have been a ton of folding!
