Holy cow, it rocked! I was nervous beforehand because it was my first "official" session. I ended up running much faster than I thought I would be, which was a nice surprise!
If anyone is thinking about doing speedwork, I would highly recommend it! It was so much fun!

yay! what kind of workout did you do?
Tonight was 8x400 at 5k pace with ~100m recovery. My first lap was 2:19 (I think) and the other 7 were all 2:03. I don't think I have ever been able to run that consistently before (something I have been working on lately).
I opted not to wear my garmin, and I think it actually helped since I ran more off of how I felt rather than being a slave to my watch
Tell me more about your speed workout! It is on my (extensive) list of post injury to dos!
As much as it sucked, I think ITBS is one of the best things that happened to me. It really forced me to focus on strength training and more stretching (I was really good at skipping both). I am so much stronger post injury. Hang in there and you will bounce back soon!
I need to be much better at stretching. Strength training, specifically heavy lifting, is something I have a hard time finding the time to do. Boxing is definitely strength training, but I should try to figure out when to lift.
Thanks for the hope though! It is comforting to know that this might actually go away sometime.

oh that's a good one! 6 x 400 is always my speed work out during a taper week.
