I'm really curious how Murph in The Games is going to go. I sense that it was programmed early to physically break people. Like Castro wants athletes to tear and do worse later because of it.
Really I just hate The Dave Castro and assume everything he does is because he's a douche
Yeah, I feel like this is a big F-You honestly. It'll be fun to watch but how can you not get torn up during Murph?
I know they got fitted for body armour yesterday, but I'm wondering if they will be allowed to partition the reps, or if they have to go straight through (100 pull ups before 200 push ups, etc). If so, that's destructive.

Murph isn't strict natively, so I'm really hoping they maintain that. I've done Angie (100 pullups, 100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 air squats in order) and I couldn't move my upper body for a week. I know these guys are way more in shape than I was at the time (probably best shape of my life) but still.
That's the name of his gyms in the Bay Area. I used to work out at one of the NorCal Crossfit locations a few years ago, so I've been watching the teams - I actually know (not well) one of the guys.
One of my friends is competing (I think. She often does but I have a hard time understanding the listings) I don't have cable, though, so I assume I can't watch?
I tried watching online through the CrossFit website but the Individuals events aren't streaming live on there. It routed me to ESPN and I had to sign in to my Verizon account in order to watch. I don't have cable and don't subscribe to any channels but it's letting me watch. I couldn't find a live stream for individuals anywhere else.

you can watch it now that it is happening - I am watching Murph now.
Can someone explain this to me? Lauren Fischer competed as an individual (was injured), didn't make the Games, but now is competing for the Invictus team??? How is that fair?

^ This right here is super obnoxious.
For some reason, TWC never has any kind of relationship with streaming services. Every time I'm asked to enter my cable information it's like "TWC is not one of the services supported"

I don't understand what you mean. Team athletes don't have to qualify individually.

I'm watching it via ESPN. Still won't let me stream it on the Crossfit Games site. I was able to watch teams and masters but not individuals. This is what I see on the site. It's OK though, I signed into my Verizon account and it let me watch. I was worried that because I don't have a cable package at all, much less one that includes ESPN, that I wouldn't be able to watch.

Screw you, TWC!@
Aww damn.
I think it's really fracking dumb that they don't just stream the whole thing online
Damn, 6 min miles on the women's. Wonder how they will fare on the rest with going that fast out the gate. I missed the guy's Murph and jumped in at around 50 mins.

Ok, but the Invictus team competed on the same weekend for Regionals as Fischer. They obviously qualified - shouldn't they have to take the team they qualified with? It doesn't seem fair that they qualified without Fischer but then get to compete at the games with her.
