When you got your back/shoulder tattoo what did you wear? I'm getting one on my shoulder/back right where a bra strap would be. I'm thinking a tube top with a strapless bra.

Halter dress with strapless bra for the two shoulder blade tattoos, a slouchy sweatshirt and just a regular bra for the center upper back one.

Yes. I would not wear a bra if it can be helped, only because I can't imagine that tightness rubbing on the freshly done area.

Wait...no, I'm dumb, you are getting it where the strap is, not the back of the bra. lol. I don't think you need anything too special. It will be all covered up at the shop anyways.

I hate tube tops, so I just wore the strap of my cami tucked into my shirt and off that shoulder.

It was 15 years ago. Yikes. I think I wore a strap tank and slipped my arm out of one strap and bra strap.

I wore a tank top with no bra when I got my big shoulder piece done. Just slipped one side off while it was being worked on, put it back on when it was wrapped up.

I don't actually remember my bra strap hitting where my tattoo was. Is it definitely going to rub? I probably wore tank tops or went braless around the house (like not working or in class) whenever possible, but it was almost 20 years ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy! How big is the tattoo?

Yeah, it's definitely going to rub. 7-8 inches tall and 4ish across.

I have this issue too, the absolute need to wear a bra.

I have both shoulders done. IIRC, for the larger one on my left shoulder, I wore a sports bra (the straps were more comfortable) that has a clasp on the back I could undo, instead of one that I pulled over my head. I had both done on Fridays so by Monday morning for work, I had no problem wearing a regular bra.

Says who? It's not like you're going jogging or playing volleyball. You will be sitting as still as possible for several hours, then driving home and probably sitting/laying as still as possible for the rest of the day. Tattoo artist will not be scandalized.

Signed, GG cup and did not wear a bra to get my shoulder tattoo.

I think I wore a tank top with a shelf bra and pulled the strap down on that side. It will be covered with gauze when you leave so you could put a loose t-shirt over it for the ride home if you want.

The tattoo will be done on Thursday. Friday... I don't know. Probably a racerback bra depending on final placement of the tattoo. Sat & Sun I plan on just freeballing my boobs and staying home.

I would also take a hoodie that you don't mind getting ink on for you to wear backwards. I was extremely grateful for that tip with all my back tattoos because it can get chilly when you're half naked.
