Oh man. I saved this thread for today, when I had time to read it properly. Sorry to everyone who is getting late "likes" from me. I'm sad I was too busy to participate properly, I have a lot to say but feel like the moment has passed. toledo covered a lot of it though.

Just to update everyone, I called the mortgage company this morning and apparently the guy I spoke with yesterday had no idea what he was talking about when he was talking about how payments had been applied and escrow and all that crap. What actually did happen was that when my mom made the payment in Jan/Feb, they told her it would cover us through February. In reality, it didn't even cover January, and then we didn't pay February because we thought it had been paid. And like I said, I knew we had missed last month's payment, so we actually do owe them the money. I was really hoping that the majority of it would be a mix-up.

Thank you for all your words of encouragement yesterday and all the advice. I really felt like I was going to come unglued. Also, H took it much better than expected and he wasn't completely caught off guard like I thought he'd be. Obviously, I handle the finances, but he said he's just shocked we've made it through all this thus far (financially speaking).

Any updates from the mortgage company or programs that can help with foreclosure? I hope you've gotten some good news.
