DS did that thing we don't talk about...DD did it at his age one night too, and then didn't do it again til 10 months old so I am not holding my breath. But I slept for almost 7 hours straight for the first time in 10 weeks...it was lovely.
DH is working for his dad today and it is going to be the hottest day of the summer to date. I have no idea what I am going to do with both kids to keep them busy all day. There isn't one single indoor early years drop in on Wednesday here! We are going to the park drop in this morning but this afternoon is going to suck.

Ugh. DS had a fever yesterday and we were both miserable because he was a total crankster. He's been fever free since late yesterday afternoon and I regret that I canceled my meetup at the library storytime. I don't know what we are going to do. I feel like it would be fine to take him but since I told the ther moms he had a fever, I feel like they'd be judging us for not waiting 24hrs. Yesterday was so loooooooong. I don't know what we can do today. Ugh. in other news, we did a moms night in the meetup group last night and it was SO MUCH FUN!

Wtffff. I had barely fallen asleep last night at 1 and Lane woke up crying. Went in to give him more Motrin and he still wouldn't lay down. I ended up in the guest bed with him, but it took him until maybe 3? to actually go back to sleep. I slept maybe another hour more. Skipping body pump this morning because I am so sore from being squished to the side of the bed by the toddler. Also, this way I can bake cupcakes this morning and nap this afternoon. Ugh.
Work is super busy. I hate end of year. This one is worse b/c we are doing our work and work for 2 other offices. Plus my staff continues to fuck shit up and despite my requests and warnings, the message isn't getting through.
Also, E did her first unprompted Love you. To the dog. Thanks kid!
My internet has been screwy this last week so every time I tried to post it would take forever. And then all the threads were 5 pages long before I got to them. So with that...
1. Congrats @vicmo! 2. Update on DD's milk allergy and preschool, she isn't going this year. She was tested yesterday and the skin test reaction was doubled in size from last year, so not a good sign. And talking with the preschool director she said she thinks it would be best to wait another year. Essentially the only way to accommodate her would be isolation during snack and lunch. 3. Most recent splurge is the pool, could be swimming this weekend!
I am sure most of you are probably like who cares.
cece I care! Sorry about your daughters milk allergy. That's rough.
H is gone until Sunday, I leave Saturday with Piper and won't be back until Tuesday. So, single parenthood for a week. Should be interesting! I am taking Friday off and going to take her to daycare after her 6mo pictures. Kid free errands and a nap!
I have a strange urge to bake bread. I've only ever done quick bread so I have zero idea where this came from. I'm dragging the kids to buy yeast though.
I feel like a bad cat mom today. Several months ago my cat ate one of the black, round, rubber, no-slip things that fell off the bottom of my MacBook. He's been eating, drinking, and using the litter box as usual, so I figured he must have pooped it out at some point. Last night he barfed it up. So it must have been irritating his stomach for months now. Plus he's overdue for his annual vet exam. Cat mom fail.
H is leaving today, gone until Monday. At breakfast, he mentioned to Bas that Nana and Grandpa are coming on Saturday. Then B asked for Nana every five minutes until we left. Including wanting to search the house in case Nana was hiding and crying that he wanted Nana, not daycare. Thanks, H. SIGH.
DH does this all the time, it drives me crazy. DS is 3.5, DH knows full well that he doesn't quite understand what "tomorrow" or "next week" means. So STAHP telling DS that we're doing something fun in the future, it just causes a tantrum when he can't have it "right NOOOOW mommy!"
DD has her 4-month well check today. I can't believe how big she is! I'm curious to see how much she weighs and how long she is. I feel bad for the upcoming shots though We also have to take DS's vaccine records from the pedi to preschool. The deadline to submit them is August 1st, whoops! Just barely made it.
In other news, I've officially become an old lady. I started using one of those pill boxes with the separate sections for each day of the week. It makes it so much easier to remember if I've taken something already that day!

Go down the rabbit hole of making sour dough. Its my obsession. Baking bread is so much fun and super easy. The tartine bread is one of my favorites.http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/23/dining/be-patient-and-make-tartines-country-bread-your-own.html?_r=0
C insisted on bringing two rubber duckies to daycare today. He made "quack quack" noises all the way there. It was adorable. Then when we got to daycare, he wanted to sit with me and not with his Debbie, so I sat on the ground with him while he ate his cereal bar. When he got up, I had crumbs ALL over my dress. I said something out loud about needing to clean up his mess so it didn't get all over Debbie's floor, but then C reached down and brushed all the crumbs off for me (right on the floor, of course) and gave me his hand to help me up. It was too cute to care about the mess. lol
Ben Affleck is a huge douche but he looks hot in that picture. I hate myself.
I slept on DS's floor a couple of hours last night because he was freaking the fuck out. I don't know what's up with him. It's not teeth or an EI. He slept in an extra hour though so yay.

Not letting DD watch tv last night because of her tantrum in the morning might have helped. She was sweet as pie today, and when I told her that she cooperated and was well-behaved, "We can watch tv tonight?"

I'm on Day 2 of being unable to get into my work computer, and I'm bored, and running out of mobile data.
They never set up a user profile for me on my work-issued laptop. They had me logging in with my ID number on a generic workstation profile. Well my computer froze and I had to restart. Don't have the password for the generic workstation profile. Can't log in and work.
A college sorority sister of mine is having surgery for a brain tumor this morning. Send a little positive thought her way for me, will you? She'll follow it up with chemo and radiation.
It's 6:10am and I'm wide awake at the lake. I thinkg I'll get up and work on a speech inhave to give this fall for a bit.
I have about 4 loads of laundry to do today, and I need to run into town to pick up a gift, but I get to see my BFF and niece tomorrow!!! And for the whole weekend! I can't wait to snuggle that baby... She's already four months!
I think I have convinced DH to do a Whole30 with me. We're planning on starting Sunday, because we have a date night Saturday night and I plan to indulge. I'm really hoping I can make it the entire 30 days and not give up.
DS has been chewing on his fingers a lot. Common at nearly 2.5?
It started maybe a month or 6 wks ago as teething (top molars still haven't cut!), then he needed Dermabond on his lip as he fell and teeth went through, so it was irritation.
It's 8:30 and I just woke up. DD is thankfully still playing nicely in her crib. I was up late because of the Shania Twain concert last night and it was so good. The place was packed and she put on a fantastic show with lots of costume changes! Thankfully we have nothing going on today so we'll just relax at home and I'm definitely napping when DD does!
