It is a sad state of affairs like Reeve said when all the Dems are more excited & probably going to be 75% of the viewing audience just to watch the train wreck.

Wonder if Stewart is going to have a live last show instead of the usual 6 pm filming. Maybe he'll go out on a high note regarding the debate! A girl can dream, right?

It is sad that we're watching it, not because we want to know where they stand but to watch the train wreck. Now that I have thought about it a bit more, I'm not sure my blood pressure can handle it.
Shoot. DH doesn't want to watch it because he thinks it'll just get us mad. You guys are going to have to be very specific in your comments. CNN had better live blog it.

The RNC chair was on the Today Show this morning. This is going to be a doozy. He is confident the candidates will go after Hilary Clinton not each other. Ummmm....
No shit. Come on, ten candidates? There'll be enough time for each candidate to say maybe 2 sentences.
I doubt Trump will let anyone else say anything. It might actually be better for the B-list candidates.
I'm thinking Trump will suck all the air out of the room because of his ego. I do think some of the others may come out of this looking dignified by comparison. I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump's star fall after this. /random speculation
I heard a prediction that Trump will actually play it cool for this one. Probably because everyone expects him to go crazy and it will throw everyone else off of their game. Should be interesting.
We don't have cable so I will have to watch it online. I think I am going to set up a second monitor at home so I can have the debate on one screen and CEP on the other. I don't want to miss a second of either. Thankfully it's late enough that H will go upstairs and leave me to it.

Nah. The other candidates will try to bait him. And he always takes the bait!
I have been on this board for years. I can't remember a time when any of the libs were excited for an Rs debate - the fact that so many are just goes to show what a party of clowns the Rs have become. None of us here are even thinking its anything to do with politics - its just gonna be like watching accidents on Youtube, only with the undercurrent of fear that one of these prats might end up in the White House.
Its bad when the other side watches your debates for shits and giggles. Its real bad lol.
That's not true! We loved the last round of R debates the last election cycle too. Who can forget the pizza guy's 9-9-9 tax plan and when Rick perry forgot one of the government agencies he was going to cut as president!

Yeah the 2012 election cycle was also hilarious at this point because of sheer numbers and some big personalities. This one seems more ridiculous, and I think it's because there are more candidates but also because everyone is trying harder to get noticed and out crazy each other. I feel like last time around there were less cartoonish characters. There were some, just not as many.

lol, I forgot that last cycle was almost as insane. But my point still stands - the libs are watching the debates cos "whoohoo disaster!" lol

That is naive of him. Plus, isn't the whole point of the debate to help you decide between the candidates who are debating? What is the point in talking about HRC at all? The candidates are trying to differentiate themselves from the pack, and all ganging up on a Dem isn't going to accomplish that. I predict this is going to be like an SNL skit of itself.
The new guy in the office is Republican. He was a little taken aback when I inserted into the conversation, "Oh are you guys talking about the debate? Or should I say the Donald Trump comedy hour?" My boss laugh. New guy did not.
:/ Ok, back to not talking politics in the office.

I heard something similar. Like how Trump is going to use the opportunity to look presidential and talk about policy. There are two problems with this: 1. The format is geared towards sound bites, not substance, so..... 2. He will never look presidential with that dead silky terrier on his head.

If it hasn't fallen yet, I doubt it will! The 20% or 30% taht support him will just continue to support his blow-hard, crazy cakes self.
