On the one hand, I'm all, "YAY, it's Friday!" And on the other hand, I get to spend both Saturday and Sunday in a classroom for one of my weekend classes so it doesn't feel like much of a weekend. So, between studying for my stats final last weekend, my class this weekend, and the giant paper that's due next weekend, I'm ready for it to just be September now. Haha.
I just sat down with a cup of coffee and turned on project runway
DH has an important meeting today so I'm anxious to hear how it goes. He has been getting a lot of positive feedback at work so feeling much more secure in his job.
Today's the last day of summer. I have to leave soon to return my textbook rentals from the summer semester and then run to the teacher store that's far out (I pass like three other teacher stores to get out there), but they have the cheaper (and better quality) lamination.
DH actually has the day off from work so we're planning to go walk around Old Town Alexandria and grab some lunch. Yay for a relaxing day!
Does anyone have the Naked Smoky palette? I am debating trying it out but I'm not sure. I still have my 1 & 2 but I'm kind of getting bored of them.
I need to know this information too. I have 2, but it's too "cool" for my skin tone. I was thinking of trying 1 or the Smoky palette.
THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!! Longest week everrrrrrrrrrrr!
I have to get my oil changed today...bleck. Hope that is quick and painless. I was supposed to get my rings checked tonight as part of my 6 month check-up, but I left the house without any of the warranties, etc. that you have to bring with you. Crap. Means for a long day of driving tomorrow

The nakeds are too cool for me too, so I bought the Lorac neutral palette. I adore it. I've had it about two years now and still haven't felt the need to buy any more shadows. Highly recommend. I can get the exact name if you want.
HoneySpider, my parents recently moved there and love it. I can't wait to go visit them and be able to walk to so many places!
My only plans today are lunch with a friend on her lunch break. No big plans this weekend either except for lots of cleaning since my parents come to visit on Tuesday. I need to go to the grocery store at some point too. It's going to be in the 90s so hoping to stay cool somehow too.
amaranth Yes, I'd like to know the name of it if you have it. I really wanted that naked two to work...I just look washed OUT.
Okay, so apparently it's called Lorac Unzipped. I originally got it at sephora but it looks like it's now released at kohls, amazon, and ulta as well. Here's a screen shot.

HoneySpider - that sounds like a nice day! i'm very jealous!
amaranth, MrsMB, and honeyspider - can you guys recommend a palette for me? i was thinking about one of the nakeds, but wasn't sure which one. i tend to lean toward pretty neutral shadow colors, but could stand to liven things up a bit!
i'm ready for the weekend! h and i are doing dinner with another couple tonight, then tomorrow we are going to an alzheimer's fundraiser. this one is really fun every year because it has a good raffle, corn hole, and yummy food!

TGIF indeed!!
It's hot here again today I'm so over this weather. On top of that we are having a fence installed so I should stay home all day (we'll see...I need to get out of here at some point). Other than that, movie night with DH, some of my favorite beer, and hopefully going to bed at a decent time.
Tomorrow is likely visiting the ILs for their 50th anniversary (DH wants to take them out to eat), unless they don't call back (DH called last night but we haven't heard from them...MIL sometimes doesn't get messages until way later).
No plans for Sunday but maybe church and/or getting out of here and going some place cooler! Maybe a hike in the mountains...who knows. Looking forward to doing something though!
I've been busy all day. I woke up early went to Sam's club, walmart and shoprite. Came home and just got done making a few jars of pickles. I am in the process of making apple pie jam and apple pie moonshine. Later I need to help my mom do her housework. She has a cancerous mass removed from her nose Tuesday and can't do any lifting. I am going to sleep like a baby tonight!

It is HOT here! I just walked a couple blocks to Subway and back and I'm sweating. Yuck.
Tonight H and I are going out to dinner and enjoying a baby free night! I'm excited but for some reason E is really the only thing making me happy lately so I feel like I'm going to miss him it's weird because of course I've missed him when we've dropped him off at the ILs before, but it feels stronger now for some reason!
I never got into the naked palettes. But then again I don't wear makeup, other then to go to weddings and such.
MrsMB- I used to go every 6 months to get my ring checked but I haven't for the past 5 years because I had to mail my ring to a store 20 hrs away because we didn't live in a town that had the store. When I went back to the store 3 years ago when we moved back they said that I voided my warranty already and I could keep coming but it wouldn't make a difference anymore. but I don't think anything will ever happen to the ring anyways because I only wear it 1-2x a year.
luv2rn4fun- I am also over this weather. I can't go outside without sweating up a storm. I also have some bread recipes I want to try making but I can't turn the oven on without hearing myself out of the house.
Today is CD 10 so DH and I will start our EOD routine. Urg.
Today I am canning pickles. I am doing it outside on my campstove other wise it gets too hot inside the house.
I went to our local Amish market and bought some delicious looking steaks and a rack of baby back ribs. And an entire cheesecake. Good eats this weekend in the Blue Moon household!
My thoughts on the naked palettes. I have 1, 2 and 3. I do not have any of the basics (all matte) or smokey.
My coloring is neutral but a little on the cool side. I look best in naked 2 and 3. 2 is very cool, so if you look good in taupe, gray, purple, silver, this is your palette. 3 is very pink. I love pink, it is my makeup jam. I rarely use naked 1 because it is a little too warm, very brown toned. If you look good in browns and golds, then 1 is your palette.
Smokey is just that... smokey. It's designed for the darker smokey eye; I think it would be great for night time eye looks. I am pale with light colored eyes, so I would look ghost like with this. The few dark colors in the previous nakeds work just fine when I want a smokey eye. I think the smokey palette looks best on those who need darker/more intense colors to show up on their skin, or have the dark eyes/hair/complexion to carry it off.

awick14- good luck!! Praying this is your month! I'm rightthere with you...went on a walk before 11 (2nd walk)...it was already over 90 outside. Took a cold shower and was still yucky. It's bad when next weds high is 90 and I'm excited for a "cooler"/ more manageable day (mainly because the low is low 60s instead of low 70s). ((hugs))
