Nemacolin Resort. Fallingwater. Kentuck Knob. White water rafting if it's still in season. Pittsburgh. That area is gorgeous in the fall. We did that trip in October for our anniversary and also threw in Kennywood on Friday night.
We do really want to go to falling water! I will double check the drive, though.
I don't know how long it would be but it would definitely be easy since it's just 76 until the very end. Nemacolin is really really nice, and Seven Springs is just around the corner and cheaper.
Or this place is adorable too! My mom and sister stayed there last August. summitinnresort.com
(The area is called Laurel Highlands for googling purposes).
Bumping this to tell FloFTW that I decided on Summit Inn, Falling Water, an early dinner in Pittsburgh, and in general enjoying the Appalachians in Western PA that weekend.

Have SO MUCH fun! Where are you getting dinner?
Eleven. It looked like one of the nicer restaurants, with good Yelp reviews.
We also love beer, and there's a brewery (Helltown) about half way, so we'll probably check that out on the way to Pitt.
Yeah, I'm also thinking Baltimore or Annapolis. Although patio dining is a bit hit or miss at that time of year.
I love Annapolis. It's perfect for a weekend away. My H did something like this and had a blast. We did a ghost pub tour and went to Cantler's, and stayed at a adorable hotel downtown for a very reasonable price.
That's my vote.
Another place to consider is Burlington, VT. Fantastic food and beer and adorable town.

We almost did a similar trip last weekend. Unfortunately we couldn't find a place that would take the dog since it was last minute. We do plan on getting up there eventually so you'll have to report back!
How about a cheesy all-inclusive place up in the Poconos like Cove Haven? The kind of place that has champagne hot tubs, heart shaped tubs, and mirrors on the ceiling? I know it sounds super lame, but that's the fun part!
