Hi I can use some help, my cat doesn't deal with stress well. We moved this past week and now my cat is scratching up everything and gas owed twice on the wood floor in the corner of the kitchen. Her litter is upstairs behind a gate (which we have always done) dye to my dog being downstairs and he would try to get in the litter. How can u stop her. I'm planning to buy some new cardboard scratching stuff today (she is not a fan of carpet scratchers). I read some stuff about feliway has anyone tried it, or do you have other recommendations. I don't want her ruining our floors and baseboards in that corner!

Feliway does work for many cats, you could spray it where she's having accidents or get the diffuser - might need multiple if your house is big. Is there somewhere downstairs you can put an extra litterbox while she gets used to the new house (maybe in a baby gated laundry room or bathroom)? Clean where she pees with Nature's Miracle to remove the smell - carried at petsmart.
It might be best to keep your cat in a smaller space, like one room and then slowly extend his/her area to explore. Keep s litter box in her room. And put a temp litter box anywhere she pees until she uses the box exclusively again. GL
Is it possible he's marking that spot? Maybe he's smelling something there from the pets of former owners. I'd do my best to clean it, then either get a dog proof litter box for that corner, block the corner off, or (as above), put a temp box there and just do your best to keep the dog out.
