I don't even have the energy to deal with Tillie anymore so I make it a habit to ignore her. She consistently gives everyone except POC the benefit of the doubt. I am just going to sit back and see what colors will end up on the wall.
Maybe they were being too loud (doubtful!) but I guarantee you a group white ladies who book club would not have been kicked off for making the same level of noise.
Eh, they were asked at least twice ( they say 2, train says 3) to please tone it down. They didn't. It's not a bar.
Considering that "laughing while black" got my friends and I followed in a store by security, I'm going to say this is a thing.
Black folks are always assumed to be loud. And I don't know how we corner the market on that when I've seen drunk white folks be far more rambunctious than drunk black folks.
Then to sit there and put a BOLD FACED LIE saying these women were threatening passengers ought to be enough to signal that they don't give two shits about trying to justify their bigoted actions.
But, never mind. I'll add this to my list of things I can't do along with getting Iced Tea and Skittles from the store.

But it is an establishment where alcohol is served. Also, I'm guessing that you're assuming the lying ass train staff are telling the truth about this particular event? Nah, they don't seem shady at all, huh? What with taking down the untruths they told on FB and all....
It's the person who booked the party's fault. ANY large group is going to get loud. Doesn't matter if it's tea-totalling white haired grannies. You get with friends, things get loud just with regular conversation.
I'll come back to say that I think they were loud and got complaints. I don't think there were any threats of violence, etc.
I also was reminded that by posting a different opinion personal attacks will ensue. Guess that doesn't change.
So, what you've missed here is how often white passengers get treated like this. Black folks are signaled out for all manner of shit, and laughing is a thing. Like I said laughing at a joke managed to get security to follow me and three other people around the store. Is that warranted? Is it justified? People walking on a center aisle, not aimlessly wandering about a store attempting to steal shit means I gotta get followed?
Laughing on a train car means I get kicked off the train? Come on. For real?

Look, I get you. You are a supreme rule follower. You believe that every rule is for a reason, and you MUST have done something bad if you were punished in some way. This is why you love your HOA and a handful of other examples you've given over the years.
However, unless video comes out that these women were as rowdy as claimed, you have to rely upon the evidence presented, and some of that is the testimony of the women on this board.
They're personally attacking YOU, because you personally attacked them to begin with.

Group, I now regret even bothering you with Tillie's post. Same formula different day. Post something insulting, much of the time racially insensitive, then calls everyone a big meanie when they aren't checking for her crap. I need her opinion like I need the stems on spinach leaves. That "differing opinions" claim is completely invalid especially when speaking to the Black women on this board. Most of us live in a world where we are 13% of the population and have to code switch very often, FOH with us not embracing other opinions.

FYI the police are always called when a person or group of people are escorted off a train. I am not defending the actions of this company which was clearly in the wrong, just saying its standard procedure to call police if the conductor boots someone from the train.

And the police called on you.
TBF the police are called every time someone is kicked off the train. It's how they assure the displaced folks get back to the starting point.
These ladies were probably loud. But the company lied in print for the world to see. One of those things is a social faux pas & I believe the other is a crime.
I don't know that this is 100% appropriate to this thread, but this video popped up in my FB 2x today and I do think it speaks to the different experiences of black and white women (people, but everyone happens to be women in these stories).
Listen, I get your point. You (all) are referring to the big picture and racist motivation behind the incident. All I was saying is from what I had read on this particular story it did appear that they were probably loud and asked to quiet down multiple times, and other patrons have had the police called on them as well.
Maybe I am missing the big picture, but personal insults thrown at me are not going to make me want to have further discussions on this thread. If my posts caused any hurt, it was unintentional and I do apologize for that.
What's your evidence for the fact that they were "probably loud" and therefore deserved to be ejected from the train? Is it that they were asked to quiet down? Well, yes, they admit that they were asked to quiet down and that they complied. They also say people were coming up to them, taking pictures with them, etc. So clearly they weren't so disruptive everyone wanted them off.
Is it that the company said they were too loud? Why is the company more reliable than the customers? Particularly the company who lied about them--as is evident from the fact that they removed their post and are mum about the incident.
Even if you're not willing to look at the big picture, at least examine your own biases and ask yourself why you're willing to give the company the benefit of the doubt and you're not willing to give the customers the same.
I am trying to see this from the other guests side. But I can't. If I go to a restaurant and am with my friends, we can get loud. Not rowdy, just happy. And that's without alcohol. Who were the other people? The queen ? How does other people's enjoyment get in the way of yours? You aren't trying to nap on the wine tasting train. Even children shouldn't be shushed. (No screaming or running in certain situations) People need to stop being so boring
