I love cooking but I don't chop much or I use a food processor. I move really fast and just don't worry if things are perfect. Your meal looks good though! And so does that crock pot one!

That looks good!
I used to cook almost every night before kids. I am way too stressed to enjoy it during the week now.
I made H shrimp risotto on Sunday (his birthday meal request) and it's so time intensive, but I enjoyed it because the kids were already in bed. So basically, I enjoy cooking when I know the parties involved will like it and there aren't 3 year olds freaking out at my ankles.
I tried a similar deal with another company and wasn't a fan. The meals cost the same as regular delivery but I still had to spend at least an hour cooking and cleaning. No thank you. Seamless FTW.

I felt like this was a lot cheaper than takeout because we did the family plan so it's portioned for 4, and we had enough for one serving of leftovers because my kids don't eat a ton. That being said, the savings was not worth the chopping lol.
I actually enjoy the process when I am not pressed for time, which is like.. never anymore. lol. I loved it when I was single and got home before 7 every evening.
I became a great cook while I was waiting on my visa and a sahw for 10 months. It was fantastic. I subscribed to Bon appetit, could go to the grocery store every day if I wanted, no rush etc.
I was also in fantastic shape
Seriously sahw is the way to go guys. Trudy if you had a full time nanny none of this would be an issue

I think Plated was $15/serving, which was ridiculous. Our Thai delivery tonight of two entrees, a salad, and tip was $30 and has enough left over for Carter and me for lunch tomorrow.
No advice here, because I don't cook. I love to bake though and my cooking attempts generally turn out okay, but I hate it. I didn't do much for just myself while I was single and MH has done all the cooking for the last couple of years.
Deep breath - anyone can cook! At first you will feel overwhelmed like you need a million hands to do everything at once but it will become second nature overtime.
If you're making something from a recipe, read it first so you know what you have to do in the back of your mind. Before you start think of all the elements of your dinner and the order you should do them in (so you don't have cold or soggy elements by the end).
Watch cooking shows. The more you see People doing techniques and putting together meals the easier it will be.
You're a smart girl. You have a nursing degree. You can do this!!

Lol it sounds so stupid but I did not read the recipe beforehand and it made it 10x more overwhelming!
dojo is wise. Just reading the whole thing first always helps me. I had to learn to cook when C was born. My H's schedule got crazy right around that time, and he'd always been the only cook in the house. It took a loooong time for me to get comfortable with it. I still can't do anything without a specific recipe. I also bugged rjamz a LOT for help when I was trying something new. She's a great resource!
ETA: and the Monday meals thread? I rarely participate but steal heavily. Especially from charlielove, since we have similar diets.
The other thing that helps me is getting out my ingredients all on the counter before I start with whatever measuring cups/spoons I need. So I'm not running around looking for something. I honestly dislike chopping too so I chop first and put it aside on a plate or the cutting board.
I learned to cook in college by watching the food network a ton, haha.
I obviously love it. I learned as a kid since my mom was always working. With time and practice, prepping and techniques become quicker. Definitely read the recipe a couple of times before starting. More than once I have started only to reach the refrigerate overnight, etc step.

I want you to be my personal chef. I salivate at your IG feed!!
A lot of people seem to hate chopping. Get a good sharp chefs knife and a wood or plastic cutting board (God help you if you buy glass). Watch a YouTube video and practice. Good knife skills and proper tools make things 1000x more pleasant.
