I can't believe there's a book called "The Joy of Tidying" that anyone actually reads.
While I kind of agree with you, I once read "Getting Things Done" and it changed my life. Maybe I could get into tidying too if I weren't so damn lazy around the house.
DD was up at 5:45. I brought her in to our bed to nurse hoping that she'd fall back asleep. Hahaha nope. I tried to show her Sesame Street on my phone but she was not interested. So we all got up, went to breakfast where she refused to eat, and now we are back home. She's taking a nap and I'm doing laundry and waiting on our grocery delivery.
This afternoon I'm going to a consignment sale with my sister in law, then tonight DH has his fantasy football draft at a friend's house. After DD goes to bed I'm getting in bed to read a book and going to sleep early!
Omg. My back is killing me. I literally had to scoot down the stairs on my butt to go feed the animals. And then I got stuck between floors because I couldn't handle the pain to stand up to go down the other set of stairs. Fuuuuuck.
Ugh, I hope you feel better. I woke up yesterday morning and could not move because my back hurt so bad. I seriously thought I was going to have to call H and have him turn around and come hoist me out of bed. I feel your pain!
1:00 pm is an unusual time to have a first birthday, right? I'm an asshole, but I used D's nap time as an excuse not to go, but really that would kill his entire nap, and although he's normally flexible, he has to have at least a little sleep to be functional for the rest of the day. (Holy run-on sentence).
The birthday kid probably still napping 2x a day. So the mom timed his party around his naps. That's what I did. DS's 1st bday party was from 12-2 because he napped from 10-12 and 3-5.
My MIL is coming over any minute to visit for about an hour. Her BF works for a dealership and is dropping off a car near us (they live 3.5 hours away from us though). So she's visiting while he drops off this car. Random but I said come on over.
We're hosting our annual fantasy football draft tonight. I'm effing exhausted from DD's cluster feed marathon yesterday/early today, so not as excited as I would be. Hoping she doesn't cluster feed through the draft, but I'll have her in a wrap carrier just in case.

I'm trying to get DD hooked on Sweatin to the Oldies videos on YouTube so she'll let me dress her as Richard Simmons for Halloween. Her favorite shirt is a sparkly tank top and her hair is crazy curly and it's just too perfect.
Disclaimer: she can pick another costume for ToTing if she wants. This is just for my amusement.

How can I help facilitate this because it sounds awesome!

I think I've convinced her. Off to find some white sneakers . . .

H found an injured bird in the front yard this morning, so after taking our bulldog to the vet for a staph infection, I turned around and drove an hour RT to take the bird to the wildlife rescue center. I hope it's ok!
I'm an idiot. Last month the pediatrician suggested I cut obvious dairy from my diet to see if it would help DS's gassiness. There hasn't been a big change, so the other day I decided to cut hidden dairy and soy as well. I've been looking at ingredient lists more carefully now and just today I realized that the goldfish crackers I've been snacking on everyday have dairy in them. They're cheddar CHEESE flavored. Why didn't it cross my mind that they would contain dairy?
Also, why will DS nap for over an hour on my lap in the most uncomfortable position, but will only sleep for 20 minutes if I put him down in a more comfortable spot?
We are all watching the Little League World Series while DS is taking a nap. There was what we thought was a bad call - the outfielder for Mexico caught a ball but dropped it on the transfer so it was ruled not a catch (my family is very into baseball, kid took some steps after the catch before dropping so it should have been an out). Anyway I teared up bc I knew the poor kid would be upset. And then they show him crying after the ruling and I was holding back tears!

After my back pain subsided a bit, C and I have been super productive today. We got to Costco right as they opened, had a fantastic time wandering before it got too busy, then we grocery shopped at our regular store. I even have dinners planned and ingredients ready for the next three nights, plus I cut veggies up for snacking instead of just throwing them in the drawer and forgetting about them.
C was so helpful with everything all day too! He insisted on helping to carry stuff into the house and holding the door open for me. And when I held the door for him he said "Thank you!". Swoon.
FML I didn't put Ben's shorts on at nap time so he took his diaper off and then threw it out and then didn't nap at all. We decided to head to our BBQ and hope for the best. He passed out immediately in the car so I'm sitting here with him. H is bringing me a beer. There's a bounce house!

My streak of having a toddler who accepts everything I say without question has officially ended. I guess this is three three weeks early? Literally UNTIL YESTERDAY, if she asked for something and I said "no", she'd move on. Now, all of a sudden, someone must have taught her the word "WHY?" so every response of mine is followed by "WHY?". God help me.
DD2 has been at her friend's house for almost 24hours. I really do not care...lol. Her friend is an only child & I told the mom to drop her anytime, last update she was taking them out to lunch.
So what are the rules about leaving a child in a car with the A/C on? Asking for a friend.
Dear NQB who used to think moms who depended on their toddlers nap schedule were crazy: lol.
I won't leave her and go in the house but I have hung out in the car while she napped or on the front porch (quiet street and I can see her from the porch).
I know visitors mean well but right now I'm regretting letting my 2 aunts come over. I know they will stay for a few hours and H and the baby are currently napping. Visitors will be here any minute so they'll totally disturb them, damn.
DH took Ds on a bike ride. I suggested they stop at the park and also to look At the bell tower up the road. Even if they are gone 30 min I will be happy!!
I have been craving french toast so that is what I am making for dinner. I am so excited, is it dinner time yet???
