I just left H in the middle of Central park with the kids claiming I "just need to run into Trader Joe's." TJ's is about 15 blocks away and I'm at a bookstore.
Oh yeah I only listen to adult music in the car. Children's music is a can of worms I refuse to open.
I have been listening to NPR on long drives with the kids lately.
That's pretty much all we have on on the car. I never have time to watch the news and quick NPR news updates are one of the only ways I feel like I know what's generally going on in the world.
This isn't really a confession, but I totally put on Netflix for DD so I could take a poop without interruption. Then while she is occupied with it I am going to eat cookies in peace.
DS watches way more TV than he should. I give like 0 fucks. He is soooooo smart & active & imaginative & creative. I see 0 ill effects of TV viewing on his behavior.
Plus it's an amazing sanity break & sometimes I get to into shows with him.

I want your quote "screen time is for moms" on a tshirt, please. When I read screen time threads and people are like "30 minutes a day is too much!" I'm like "hmm...should I confess that DD watches a movie almost every day?!"

I honestly don't understand how I could SAH and keep my sanity without screen time as my "mother's helper." Is everyone else interacting with their toddlers for 8 awake hours every day? Or do they have super mellow kids who are awesome at independent play? If screen time were no longer an option, I would go back to work.

I think this is where a lot of my guilt is...I'm not a SAHM, so when I am home, I think I should be interacting with him for every second he's awake.

My H works full time and I feel like he needs the screen time even more than me! He's so drained when he gets home from work it's hard for him to immediately be "on" for the kids, especially our crazy 3yo. Everyone needs a little screen time, we just have different reasons for it!
Another confession because bunnybean's question about other boards reminded me. I (very occasionally) check out the travel board. There is a frequent poster on there who I am so jealous of. She goes on so many amazing trips. I want to switch lives with her, lol.
There's a few people I love to read about their travels over there.

My 2.5 yo DD2 is so hard. This week I've been guilty wishing we had been OAD. I know it will get easier but F. She's just been making us all so miserable lately. It's DH's bedtime tonight so I left to take a work call and walked to a cafe. I'm drinking a delicious lavender latte and eating a bowl of green Spanish olives.
