What about a crossbody drawstring bag? The bucket shaped style? Those tend to be roomier. I would definitely go with the Longchamp over the ones in the OP, but I also prefer a CB...pretty much always, but especially while traveling.
Hadn't realized that was something that existed, but I would be happy to see (inexpensive) suggestions in that direction
... I am starting to think this is hopeless (at least at my low price point -- I do really like the MZ Wallace) and that I'll just stick with the Le Pliage!
You have unleashed the MM bag beast and it will never stop!

They are a must, although at least 1 of the 2 would be fairly slim.
I will try it out, I am actually thinking it might work. It holds a ton; more than it looks like
I have this in Nylon. I got it off ebay really cheap and there were tons when I got it about a year ago. It has been the best bag for long days out. It holds everything and yet is soft and collapsible so it is only as big as what is in it. It is light and easy to pack.
Reading your parameters, my mind goes to a Tory Burch nylon tote.
I have one that I use for travel and it can hold a ton. It packs flat and is super light.
You're forgetting a very important parameter: must be cheap!
I actually have a Tory Burch gift card that I cannot for the life of me use up, but I don't like the current TB nylon options enough to pretend that a gift card is fake money.
Gah I wish I knew. I have had my eye on this bag but it's not worth $225
This is the one I was talking about! I love my le pliage but only wished that it had a shoulder strap. I should have gotten this one instead of the regular one. It holds SO MUCH (and I have the small one).

I really like the bag - but the price is a little ridiculous if you ask me. I saw it on Rue La La a few weeks ago and even at their "discounted" price, it was still closer to $200. I love that the le pliage is so light that it's really only the weight of what's in it, so I know I'd love this one!
