It seems that everyone is shopping the fall/winter clothing. How much have you spent on your child's fall/winter wardrobe? Feel free to break it down as much or a little as you like.
I still need to pickup snow pants but I have CP cash for that, maybe snow boots too. However last year he refused to wear snow boots so I might just get boot liners & let him wear the rain boots that he loves.
Well I bought some one of stuff (first day of school outfit, some dresses, nicer clothing). I feel like I'm going to spend $500 at least on my daughter.
Have already: Snow pants, Coat, some dresses, some leggings, a few LS shirts that still fit. First day of school outfit.
Need to get: More shirts, leggings, winter pants (fleece mostly since jeans are a no go), sneakers, rain boots, rain coat, hats, gloves, snow boots
Nice to have: some marry janes or other flats, more dresses and tunics, more hoodies and sweaters.
I probably spent $250 on Boden and Gap items. Almost all sale. Pants and long sleeved tops, sweaters, etc.
$18 on Sorel boots on Amazon - sale $30 ish on a new Patagonia Down Sweater from 6pm.com last year $18 on a new Patagonia Nano Puff from 6pm $6 Boden hat
Haven't bought mittens yet.
Shoes? Merril's were like $12 on sale, and we also have a pair of $22 Sperry's he's wearing that should fit a while longer.
Add in a few random Zulily and Oilily items.
Not sure what we will do about snow pants. His fleece bibs from last year still fit. I will see how much time he actually spends "in" the snow vs. just walking through it. Last year he didn't really sit in it much, so fleece Patagonia bibs were fine over his regular pants.
ETA: I always sell his Boden stuff on a swap site after he's outgrown it, and get about 70-100% of what I paid. (As I buy most of it on sale.) So proud of myself, LOL.
3 kids but the girls share...I probably spent $50 buying ahead and $117 yesterday at Carters. Their coats and snow boots from last year were big so those should fit this year. I will probably spend another $200 or so on clothes and shoes...maybe a little more to get outfits for pro pics. I've really tried cutting back because in past years I overbought and they didn't wear most of their clothes enough.
Hm, it's hard to break down. I've been buying ahead trying to gamble on sizes for next summer, and will probably return some. Plus we have some hand me downs and gifts from grandma and bought winter coats last spring.
$55 on shoes (Livie and Luca though! I'm excited for these!) about $50 on Halloween costumes Maybe $50 at Gymboree $50 Old Navy And $75 resale groups?
$0 so far. We have a lot of hand me downs so I don't think we will need much. It's still hot here so I haven't even looked at their pants and long sleeved shirts yet. I think everyone has a winter coat that will fit already, although DD1 might need a new one. And they will all get a pair of regular boots and a pair of snow boots (I think Dd2 already had some though). I expect all that to cost maybe $150? And then add in some random other clothes and it will probably be around $200 total.

I've probably spent about $75 at Gymboree, $50 at Target and $20 at Old Navy so far. I plan to get the rest at consignment, and have budgeted $200 for that.
That also doesn't include what my mom has bought (several outfits, a winter coat, PJs, and two pairs of sneakers).

Hmmm...so far only about $75 at the Kohls sale. He fits into some pants I got him in the spring when he moved up to 2T.
My parents bought him a few outfits for his 2nd birthday. I need to get winter gear and probably 2 more pair of comfy pants, so roughly another $100-150 I would say.
I think we are going to spend minimally this fall because DS outgrew 2T towards the end of winter but he's still fitting well in his 3T pants and shirts we bought 5 months ago.
I found some good clearance finds in the spring and I picked up a 4-in-1 jacket on clearance $15 and some mittens from osh kosh for $1.50 for a 2-pack. I did buy a hat on a whim at Target for $10 last week though and I think DS will need a new pair of shoes soon. I think we're looking at $75 total for the fall which is pretty exciting.
DD1 (9) asked for clothes for her birthday so she got a bunch of things from her grandparents and my SIL. I bought 2 pairs of sneakers for $60, and $10 worth of socks. We will probably need to get a winter jacket and a fleece or two, and a couple more shirts. I'd estimate $200 for fall/winter combined.
DS (7) hasn't changed sizes and has hand me downs in the next size. Hoping we won't have to spend much on him. I usually spend no more than $100 on him a season.
So far, 0. I haven't bought any fall or winter clothes yet. Eek. Now I feel behind the curve............
We had a cold snap last week which spurred my shopping.
farmvillelover - I bought 2 pairs of the Nikes too, but I only counted the cost of one in my spending estimate. The other pair will likely be for spring.
I have no idea how much I've spent, but most of it was consignment. I bought ahead on a lot of stuff, and went through what I have for fall/winter-it is insane. He could wear a different adorable sweater every day for a month. This won't stop me at the big consignment sale here at the end of the month, though...
I'm probably at $250 and I think I just need a winter coat still. What did you put your 8-12-month baby in when they were outside in winter? Daycare takes them outside a lot, so I want to be sure he's warm.
I mean last week it was $250 alone. And I am not done. She literally does not have a single stitch of clothing from last year that fits her. Not even socks. And unfortunately with the way she is eating I think she is gearing up for another growth spurt so I'm guessing I will need to exchange some of the 6's for 7's.
Now that she's slimming out, we're actually having to back track to 2t/3t bottoms so we're using some of the 2t bottoms that she was in winter of 2013/14 when she was 6-9mos.
We're not here yet but I think we will be next summer! We moved into 4T when she turned 2 in April and that's where she still is. But as she is also slimming down, I'm hopeful that this summer's clothing will fit next summer too. #daretodream
I think i spent $50 this week. I have been wanting to shop. And every kid needs boyfriend jeans. I need to actually go through her closet and get rid of her 2T stuff and figure out what we have. Until then I keep buying pants because the poor kid has highwaters on everytime we put her in jeans. I think its due to lazy parents not switching out her clothes.
So far I have spent $130 at Gap/ON on 6 shirts, 3 pairs of pants, fleece jacket, pair of boots, 1 dress, and a pair of tights.
I have $100 worth of stuff in my cart from Joe Fresh. A winter jacket with snow pants, snow boots, hat, mitts, and a pair of leggings.
I'll probably end up spending about $300 total. Her car seat safe winter jacket still fits from last year but she needs new sneakers, a couple more pairs of pants, and maybe a couple of hoodies/sweaters.
