OMG. NO POLICY?!? What in the actual fuck? WHY would you lie about that? Why would you enforce that? Why would ANYONE use that to torture and humiliate children?
Did not actually have to go to the superintendent's office, but spoke with him on the phone. He is ripshit mad as well. This "policy" does not exist. At all. He had no idea what I was talking about. He is taking the matter VERY seriously and my kiddo and others will be allowed to use the restrooms when they need to go. Period.
Edit: So the teacher and principal are liars. Which makes me even more pissed.
Holy fucking shit. I'm so glad you escalated this - but again. Holy shit. I'm even more pissed than yesterday!
He is such a cutie and seeing his sweet little face is making me even more livid about what he had to endure.
I can't believe they lied. I bet they thought you'd slink away after the big bad principal backed up that dumb ass teacher. Good for you mama. I hope they are punished swiftly.
I'd want to find out tho, why the principal backed this up. Do other teachers in the school do this?! While is want Ds moved, I'd also need to know the other teachers don't do shit like this.
I would really want to know who made up this fake policy!
Most likely the teacher was trying to get OP to not fight this and just made it up o cover her assholeness and principal backed her up hoping OP would drop it.

That is a ridiculous policy to lie about. My oldest has/had pooping problems so when he has to go he goes then. If he holds it it is awful later. I am glad the superintendent is pissed. Good for you for being an advocate for your child and other children!

She must be new then lol. I can't imagine any parent not reacting negatively to a teacher who did that. Well, she deserves whatever is coming her way. And a big wtf to the principal. Poor child. I am getting mad all over again.
And what's the deal with not allowing the kids to use the closest bathroom? That's completely insane as well. I know that when I need to go, I look for the furthest bathroom so I can see if I make it or not (sarcasm). A bunch of stupid rules all around.

Oh I'd be writing an email to the school:
Dear Dumb Motherfuckers who want six year olds to poop their pants:
I have had a chance to speak with Superintendent Not-an-idiot, and he informed me that the policy you tried to tell me about regarding six year olds and bathroom trips does not, in fact, exist. Could you please explain why you told me something that is not actually true?
Please also note that my child will be using the bathroom any time he needs to go, and he will be using the nearest bathroom to do so. If you feel that he is going an excessive amount, please contact me so we can discuss.
Further attempts to bully my kid regarding his bathroom use will result in me taking escalated action.

Oh god, you need more justice than just letting your kid use the restroom like a human.
This is madness. I'd make life as uncomfortable as possible for the teacher and principal. Ask for a meeting with both of them in the same room. Maybe even include the superintendent! mwahaha

I am aghast and mouth agape and sputtering with disbelief and rage on your son's behalf. I would...I don't even know but this hasn't been resolved to my satisfaction and now I want the teacher and principal held accountable for forcing him to soil himself.

HELL. FUCKING. NO.
I'm just now catching up on this and I'm raging mad for you. It makes it 10000000x worse that there IS NO POLICY. Your poor son. How is he doing? He looks like such a sweetheart.
What happened to your son was inevitably going to happen sometime, to some other child. Didn't the teacher and principal stop to think that that child's parent would go over their head to the superintendent and their lie blow up in their faces?
I would bet money that this is the principal's policy. I've worked for administrators who get crackpot "innovative" ideas like this and spin them to the faculty as ways to maximize student learning time, thereby improving test scores. It's always a complete load of bullshit, and student-friendly teachers who have backbones know well enough to disregard them.
I would request an immediate transfer to another class, and an apology to your poor son by both the teacher and the principal for what he had to go through. It sounds like the superintendent is already lighting things on fire behind closed doors, but your son needs to hear "I was wrong, this wasn't your fault" from the adults he's been taught to respect.

Damn.
I think an appreciative email to the superintendent is warranted here, thanking him for his prompt attention, and looking forward to a resolution of the matter. cc'd to the principal and teacher, of course.
"Dear Rational Superintendent, Thank you so much for your prompt attention to the matter regarding my son, and the bathroom incident which occurred on XYZ date. I appreciate knowing that you're taking the matter so seriously, as it impacts the health, safety, and dignity of all students at ABC school, as well as throughout the district. I included Doucheface Principal and Heinous Teacher on this email as well, so there is no confusion in the swift resolution of this issue."
Kindly fuck off you lying liars of a Principal and Teacher, Runmama

That's why I like the idea of emailing the super and CCing the teacher/principal. Then they know they've been busted. Although, I would be wiling to bet that a phone call has already been made to the principal.
runmama, is the superintendent going to follow up with you?

I would love to be a fly in the wall during the conversation the superintendent has with the principal and the teacher. I honestly would not be surprised if someone gets fired (or at least put on probation, letter in their file, etc.) over this. The blatant lying is miles over the line for me. And if it's a misunderstanding the principal is perpetuating at the school level, that principal would be far up shit creek.

BOOM, motherfuckers,
Runmama
I am very non-confrontational, but I would do this at the very least. OMG. I cannot believe they both lied to you. I can understand backing up your employees....to a point. This is not one of those situations where I would've backed up my employee. Holy crap. Your poor son.

Horrified lurker here. OP, please tell your son, in between hugs, what an important thing he did. The school authorities did something that was unfair and wrong. He came to you and told you about it. Now things are getting resolved so that he and his classmates and future students will not have to be subjected to this type of sadistic stupidity. As others have said, it's highly likely that other kids have been the victim of his crazy teacher in the past: One person speaking up can make all the difference and in this case it was him.
