None of my kids have t shirts with our colleges on them. We liked our schools but neither of us are super fans. We don't buy anything new for school spirit days. They participate when they can.

I love my college. It's by no means a big name school (unless you count that it was #1 party school in the nation in Playboy magazine in the 80s, lol).
But I was super involved when I went, worked in the Student Affairs office, Summer Orientation program for incoming freshman, Career Planning office my sr year, etc.
I live about 2 hours away. It's on our way to DH's family cabin we go to every 4th of July, so we've stopped there with the kids a few times and taken pictures, bought them shirts. I would be beyond thrilled if they went there. But I'm not going to expect or push it.
DH went into the military after high school and then trade school and is now working on a college degree which he won't complete until he's 35. So he'll just be happy if they do go to college at all.
Putting my kid in a university shirt for school would just seem...odd to me.
Actually, I will have you both know that my girls will be disowned if they want to go to UWO.
LOL. Where did you go?? DH and I both went to Laurier. We would obviously be thrilled if our kids went there, but I would *probably* be ok with them going anywhere.
Although, Queens was too snotty for me! I actually turned down a really good scholarship there because it didn't "feel" right.
Also, our college system here rocks and if university isn't the right plan for either of my kids, I hope they go to college if it works. University doesn't fit the needs of all learners.
YES!! My brother did a large engine mechanic thing at Fanshawe and it was an amazing program. He had multiple job offers and apprenticeship stuff while IN school..
I would want my kids to wear a plumbers union shirt or something bc im so bitter about the cost of tuition.
I hope my kids don't go to my college. I had a good education and mostly good experience there but the career planning office was awful. It's a small liberal arts college and has lately been going in a strange direction of eliminating useful majors and being hard core about only offering traditional liberal arts classes. DH doesn't care what college our kids go to either. He went to a big public university and had a good experience but knows he would've had a similar experience at a different university.
ETA: I don't have a problem with "wear college shirts" days.

We both went to Mac. I'm just kidding about UWO (mostly!). It's a great school. Mac people always made fun of the "fanciness" of UWO people.
Oh Mac is such a great school! For some reason I never really considered it. Probably because my high school self thought that other places would be better to live. I also followed a high school boyfriend (terrible idea), so there's that.
If DD's school did this, I would be SOL and forced to duct tape her Barbie with a cheerleader outfit from her paternal grandparents' university to a t-shirt. She does not have any gear from my university. I'm not even sure she remembers the name of the university I went to, although she can tell you what city it's in and what she likes about the campus (there's a particular statue on a bench that she is into). DH and I don't tend to talk about our university by name much with her, we mostly say "when we were in college..."
We're very connected to our alma mater so dd will have gear as she grows up. DD doesn't have to attend there if she doesn't want to but she will grow up going to games and events so she'll have a small connection no matter what.
Kids love college shirt days at my schools. They go back and fourth about OU vs OSU and they get to learn about some of the smaller unversities from the teachers who rep their colleges. I love spirit days.
The school has a uniform every other day, but I guess they're trying to give some kids the option of wearing a t-shirt. Friday is jeans day, which usually they're not allowed to wear.
