If someone showed up at your door and offered you $1million - would you change your vote? Canadians - I considered this. Let's face it, the tax breaks here and there are ways to 'buy' your vote. But where is the line? For me kids tax credit and baby bonus is not enough and I disagree with the idea of it anyway for all families. But if someone offered me $1 million, could I vote for Harper? It's tough. I admit it. Americans, could you vote for Trump?
If I were in the US, no way in a million years could you get me to vote Republican.
In Canada...sigh, I would have a harder time passing up $1mil...but probably not. I hate Harper and the Conservatives but I could live another 4 years with them. If I had to vote Conservative for life? No way.

I'd take the money. And vote the way I planned on anyway. And not feel bad about taking money from idiots.
But if I voted purely based on what was best financially for me as an individual, I'd be cheering on Trump and waiting for all the resulting armed conflicts with nations he pisses off and watch the DoD contracts flow.

As much as I don't want another Conservative government I would do it. I live in a riding that is very, very NDP (I think it was somewhere in the ballpark of 55% last federal election) so I feel secure that my one measly vote would not turn the riding blue.
Having that kind of money would be life changing. Even so, I would feel bad about my vote being bought and I'd wonder how rigged the election was. Robocalls were bad enough.
Hmmmm. Maybe, depending on wether or not it would impact the outcome. My area is solidly conservative and I doubt that would change. So i would vote for Harper (ew) and take the money.
Then, with about 500k of it, I would donate to local organizations I love.
Probably for someone like John McCain. I mean, if the Koch brothers, for example, actually started offering people that much money for a single vote, the money I divert from their usual shenanigans would be worth my measly vote.

I live in a very blue state, so my one vote for a Republican won't make any difference. I'd be tempted to do it, but I don't know that I'd ever be able to wash the Trump off of me. Although, the local economy is very influenced by the military, I'm sure that would be good for the economy.
ETA: If I were to do it, I'd probably donate $100,000 to Planned Parenthood to east my conscience.
People, take the million bucks. If you feel guilty, spend a shit ton of money on get out the vote efforts. Pocket the rest. You will come out ahead and so will your candidate.
LOL I live in Texas in a very Republican county. My vote doesn't really mean much. So, maybe?
In college my roommate and I threw a big election night party and hung a poster with an outline of Texas, a toilet, and the question "Where did your vote go?"pver the TV. My vote is meaningless so I'd easily sell it for that amount.
