I love the pictures.
Tom Hardy celebrated the premiere of his new movie Legend on Thursday with none other than his trusty dog by his side. With his wife Charlotte Riley also in attendance, the 37-year-old actor brought his Labrador mix, Woody, to the red carpet affair in London.
Hardy, who wore a three-piece suit for the event, got his pup equally red carpet-ready with a bow tie attached to his collar. Woody posed for pictures with his owner, sitting in front of the step-and-repeat for photographers.
A vocal animal lover, Hardy has used his movie premieres as a chance to hang out with dogs before. In 2014, the British actor starred alongside a pit bull named Zora in the movie The Drop, and carried Zora to the premiere in New York City.
“I’m an absolute sucker for dogs, and I normally find a dog on every film I do,” Hardy told Refinery29 last September. “They always end up in the house somehow, even if I have to take it from someone’s car. I’ve got no scruples. There’s always a way for a stray.”
Hardy too Woody in after finding him as a stray a few years back, explaining to Vulture in 2014, “I found him with Jessica Chastain. We were in Atlanta, Georgia, doing Lawless, and he was in the motorway. We almost ran him over with a Prius… He ran off into the motorway, and Jess was like, ‘No, no, no! You’ve got to go after him!’ He was only 11 weeks old, and so we got hold of him and he became the on-set dog, and Jessica’s mom looked after him for me for about six months while he cleared quarantine, and then we brought him back to London, so he’s my dog now. He goes on all my film sets now. He’s a great on-set dog.”
