Again, no one is saying this.  And while there are a number of arguments against the establishment of an official language in the US that are compelling, "it's hard to learn foreign languages" isn't one of them.

I say this to people who claim that people need to 'make an effort' or that 'they can't be bothered'. The number of challenges that immigrants face is astounding, suggesting that the majority who don't learn English do so because they can't be bothered is just wrong.
