It seems to me it's making light of a very deadly serious issue and bothers me immensely; but am I missing something? People who I have thought were BLM friendly have been posting it... :?
It is apparently "black dog syndrome" that black dogs are less likely to be adopted than other colors. This has been going on at shelters for a while and they try hard to get the black dogs adopted.
Yeah, I think it's taking a stab at 2 things: 1) Black dogs are hard to adopt and so they are co-opting the message. 2) It's poking fun at white people (in this case dogs) saying all lives matter.

I understand this. I have a black cat. On the made-up holiday "black cat appreciation day" a few weeks ago I almost made a Black Cats Matter joke, but it still seems to be in poor taste. We're talking about human lives, here.
And pro-BLM people posting it comes off as similar to "but I have black friends." I dunno. Just rubs me the wrong way.

What? I had never heard of this before. My dog is half brown, half black. I had no idea dark dogs were discriminated against. I will make an effort to be sure the next one is dark too, if they have a harder time getting adopted. My cats were orange and black, Flyers colors!

Part of it has to do with the way they photograph. Even in these pictures you can't really see the features of the black dog like you can the lighter dog.
Hah! My cats are Raiders colors. Intentionally. lol
If I had a cat (DH is allergic), orange and black would be my choice, Giants colors! And I'm such a baseball nerd that it's name would be Bochy or Posey.

Sadly, I think it is also party due to society's general built-in notion that black = bad.
