Wrongful birth suits are always hard, but often it's the best chance of being able to pay for medical expenses. As awful as it is to have to go on record saying your child shouldn't have been born, at least you have a reasonable explanation to tell your child.
I can't imagine telling your child you wish she hadn't been born because she's the wrong race.
I have to say, reading all the stuff from the lawyers on here on why these suits have to make some really distasteful arguments (whether the parents personally actually believe it deep down or not) has made me more sympathetic.

Maybe I am just too hopeful, but do we think this couple really resents this child or is this the best way to make this sperm bank pay? How else could you sue them?
I think sperm banks should be held to really high standards and I can understand someone suing because they want the bank to learn a hard lesson about checking and double checking this stuff, but the thought of looking at my child and deciding to sue because I didn't get the whiter child that I expected makes me want to hurl. I can't even imagine and I find it REALLY hard to believe that she is raising her child without any resentment if this is her take on things, which is completely unfair to that little girl.
If legal remedies are the way to go, I could maybe see the mother suing for breach of contract or something like that, maybe. She had a contract to be inseminated with sperm from Mr. A but got sperm from Mr. B. And I can see asking for punitive damages for that. And I completely agree with everything else you're saying. I'm not saying I'd even sue for breach of contract, I'm just thinking that would be a less fraught road to take for the future young woman who most certainly is going to know her mother called her birth "wrongful."
