This baby hasn't slept more than 15 min increments all day. She is finally asleep thanks to sucking my boobs raw and the white noise giraffe. I think she has reflux. FML, I wasn't allowed to eat anything good while pregnant because of GD and now I will probably have to diet modify somehow.
H just landed so he will be home in a few. I am not near where I need to be packing wise for the beach tomorrow because of the no napping situation and all I want to do is crawl in bed as soon as he gets home.
I feel like I need things to do during the day with DD. Today we went to the grocery store and went on a walk and started OITNB on Netflix. How do I find mom groups? What can I do with a newborn that isn't going to target daily?
My hospital lactation nurses host a mom's group, maybe your hospital does something like that? I also looked up classes in our area for moms and babies and looked for ones with young start ages. I'm doing a mom and baby yoga class - light yoga and more singing and interacting with the babies. I've exchanged numbers with a couple moms, haven't made plans yet but I've only been in class a couple weeks.
Other than walks around the neighborhood, I've taken DD to the museum, arboretum ... Really still just walks for her but at least something more interesting for me. Take advantage of your maternity leave if you don't get to go to places like that often. Here in Chicago there's been a bunch of free days for residents so I don't even feel bad about it if I only stay for a couple hours.
