I'm trying to get the house semi presentable for DD2's first birthday in a week, and I'm realizing just how nasty some of my kids toys really are. I know I have neglected wiping them down - but how frequently does it get done in YOUR house?
Lolz never. I do clean used toys before she plays with them and occasionally spray Lysol in the general direction of her toys. I also machine wash her favorite stuffed animals and dolls that get dirty.

I wipe down items I buy used before I give them to him. Otherwise, only when something is visibly icky on a toy. Even in that case, I'm more likely to pick the offending substance off with a fingernail than to bust out any cleaning supplies.

I don't now that she doesn't put everything in her mouth but before, I used to put plastics in the dishwasher a couple of times a week and soft toys in with her laundry.
I did last winter when both kids were sick for a month and we couldn't get rid of it. That was the first hardcore clean in 3.75 years.
I will wipe down a toy here and there that's sticky (Ds is sticky all the time I swear) but nothing harcore/in a regular rotation/nowayinhell am I doing all of them ever again.
Yeah that's only something I've read about on here. If they get something spilled on them it gets wiped off, although that rarely happens as we don't allow food outside the kitchen and don't allow toys at the table.
My kids are 9, 6, and 3.5. They have crazy strong immune systems so it would seem that my lack of wiping their toys down has not done them any harm.
LOLOLOLOLOL as reported in the cleaning poll a few weeks ago, I can't even get my shit together to mop my floor. Cleaning toys is never. Well, when she was spitting up all the time I would wipe that off, and I had to wash the mat of the kick n play piano a few times from excessive spit up. Other than that, I wipe down stuff I buy used with a Clorox wipe when I bring it home and that's about it.
