Well, it's only 945pm here, but I'm feeding DD and attempting to out her down for the night. Except she's been sleeping most of the day really, so I bet she'll be wide awake sometime after 2am like she was last night.
I had just fallen asleep on the couch while DH was on baby duty and apparently he yelled my name a few times and I didn't wake up. He threw the remote at me and that worked, lol.
So hoping for at least 2 or 3 hours of sleep for this first stretch. A girl can dream, right?
I'm up. I loaded up on sleep early again. Went to bed at 8 then DH brought her to me at 9:30, 10:30, and midnight for 20 min feeds. So got sleep in between. Now I'm on duty, she just woke up and I changed a soaked diaper and now she's eating.
She has fed a ton today. Like a mini growth spurt or something!
Hi all. Wake up #2 over here with my 3 day old. we have entered that glorious phase of "my milk is in. Augh! Too much milk!" I had to pump earlier tonight to reduce pressure before I could get DS to latch. Oh! And I got pooped and peed on during a diaper change today. Both firsts for me. Newborns are so cute...
I didn't do a great job on the swaddle tonight. I use the "escape proof" method so it's snug but not as tight as I normally like to do. I'll wait until the next wake up (& diaper change) to fix it it though.
Idk why but comfort sucking is really driving me crazy today. I think it's because his latch gets lazy and he sloowwllyy pulls off and it is super uncomfortable.
We got a long stretch of almost 4 hours. I'm so excited!! My DD has been waking up like an hour or two earlier in the morning than she used to because she hears us up with the baby and it makes me sad because she is so tired/grouchy at night when it happens.
Wakeu #2. I miss when he used to sleep 6,7 hours for the first stretch. Now he has woken up at 11ish the past few nights. Boo. I'm hoping he doesn't do the every 2 hours thing again tonight, but my hopes aren't very high.
We are up again feeding. She's been really good tonight. I think for 8 days old she's doing great. I prob shouldn't write that so I don't jinx myself though.
Wake up #1 here. She went 5 hours between feeds, but her last feed was around 8pm, so I got about 3 hours of sleep. Last night she only woke once and slept for about 7 hours between feeds, but sadly that was apparently a fluke. I'm hoping she will go a little longer than 3 hours until her next feed. She was super fussy and would only nap in the carrier yesterday. I'm hoping today will be much better.

DS is sleeping in the swing because he's so congested that it's the only way he'll sleep for more than a few minutes other than on top of me. He just woke up and should be hungry, but he tried to nurse, got pissed off because he couldn't breathe, and feel asleep while I was trying to calm him down. Now I have a sleeping baby on me, but I'd really like him to eat before I put him back in the swing...
I'm calling SOS on my nipples. They are really hurting. Other than hand expressing milk on them WTF else should I be doing. Latching hurts:(
I'm with you. Painful nipples stink.
Make sure you only let LO latch with a WIDE open mouth and force the whole nipple/areole in. No lazy latching. My DS would love to just grab the tip of my nipple and suck it in like a piece of spaghetti, but that hurts. A lot.
Expressed milk was never enough alone for healing for me. Get a cream and use it after every feed. I have and love Motherlove, but all the recs from this board have been great.

Is she latching deeply?
Lanolin & soothies gel pads he been helping me.
I think she is? She's is covering most of my nipple which I think is a good sign. Sometimes she pulls away a little but I take her off and have her relatch when she does.

Another almost 3 hour stretch, it was in bed with me, but I'll take it. And she woke up pooping, so who knows if it was the poop or hunger that woke her up.
I just hope I can get a tiny bit more sleep out of her. It's 4am and too early to be up for the day.
