Ours had ugly orange oak when we moved in. They're white now.
I would prefer white or a non-datable wood tone (if our bathrooms had redwood cabinets that matched the trim work in the house, that would be fine by me).
Dark brown and white are the most popular right now.
But DH and I are in the train of thought that any nice quality wood can look good with a light stain (or no stain) and a coat of poly on it. We had custom solid wood vanities and cabinets made for the main and master bathrooms. Walnut for the main bath and cherry for our master. I think they ground the otherwise very light, bright rooms.
Mid-renovation photo.
ETA: Here's a crappy cell phone photo from this morning of the finished space.

Another vote for white from me, although I do like really nice wood tones, with a good grain, like FoxInFiji - especially love the walnut (assuming that's the top pic) - gorgeous!
For me, it depends on the floor color. We had dark cabinets when we had a light floor, and then I had dark wood look tile installed and HATED the black cabinets. I painted our vanities an off white color and prefer them 100%.
I always prefer a nice-looking, quality wood cabinet over something painted but the quality of our cabs isn't very good so they have all been painted.

i LOVE the second image you posted! I lean towards white, but I also love dark cabinets, too.
Our master has an espresso vanity and this color granite
and this on the floor
The walls are a deep greige. They look beautiful together, though I originally wanted a white vanity but the granite color I wanted wasn't available where we were ordering from.
For our second bath we just started remodeling, we're using the same floor tile, a white vanity and this granite:
I will likely paint the room a super soft grey/blue. Brushed nickel fixtures, white tub and some kind of mosaic tile as an accent in the shower and backsplash.
I like white, but from lots of house shopping, I know it's pretty uncommon in my area. Thankfully we we're able to buy the only house with white cabinets throughout. I love it.
Thanks @sfgal530 & @bigredgum! DH's co-worker has a side business making cabinetry so we got a good deal. The main bath is walnut with no stain just poly and the master is cherry with a light stain to match the new craftsman style trim my dad and I made (also out of cherry). Cherry darkens with age so a light stain keeps the color more consistent over time.

We went from white (out of date - 90's vanity) to an walnut (darker) color. I didn't hate the white, but as our main bathroom with 3 young kids (well less than 10 years old) it seemed like the cabinet would get dirty on the drawer and door fronts fast. Now at least that is camouflaged with the darker color (not on the white sink, though).
I think you can make almost any shade of cabinet work. In your pictures, the first one is the one I like least, but it still showcases the warm wood well, I just don't prefer it. I even like gray cabinets, but I have a more modern taste.
totally depends on the rest of the finishes for me and the house style. Each has its place, as do colors like gray, black and navy.
I have white now because it's right for the tile and time period of the house. It is hard to keep clean, but I guess I'd rather clean the dirt up than disguise it.
We'll have white cabinetry in the kitchen, wood floors throughout main level (still deciding on color). I think our overall style is modern farmhouse/beach, if that's a style!
To me, I also think it'd be hard to keep clean (judging by the white trim/doors in our current master bath), but I might be wrong.
