You're going to give us first priority right? RIGHT?? I am on others GBCN members LLR pages and I have yet to be skin suited. Feel free to friend me if you see me on FB. I k ow that not everyone is ok with their real info being public. I get that. But we can all make our own choices. It's certainly not Jenny's fault or her responsibility to protect our identity on her business page.
Yeah I almost had a moment when I joined, but seeing a IRL friend on the page an then knowing everyone could see my name made me stop. I have a long Nest memory and ya'll are crazy. I am not trying to give anyone my name.
And it took 6 months for me to actually find a print of leggings that I liked even though I have several friends sell. So I don't think I am LLRs target market.
Jenny-just chiming in that you've handled this like a rockstar. I think you've been up front and honest about all this and good natured about the ribbing. I admire that.
I guess I'm feeling sappy this morning. Damn pp hormones. Lol

I think people are just a bit incredulous because yesterday everyone was up in arms about a blog post that linked here and now there's a link posted on the site that anyone call follow and see full names and profile pictures of people without actually having to join the group. If people have posted pictures of themselves here before I'm assuming it's not too hard for anyone who comes across your link to figure out their first and last names.
And I get "this is how facebook works" but it's also how message boards/the Internet works and people were flipping out yesterday.
I know Jenny is a popular poster, and I am a fan myself, but you all have lost your minds over this LLR thing. I really mean that.
To summarize:
1. The company has all the hallmarks of a scam and, at a minimum, is grossly exploiting the sellers.
2. Anyone who isn't concerned about sharing a Facebook page with unvetted randos when Jenny has flat out told you all that she is prioritizing page views and sales over your privacy has not been paying attention for the last, oh, ten years.
3. (And this is a verrrrrrrrrrrry distant third) the clothes are not that cute.
Anytime you join a Facebook group or "like" a business page you're "sharing" a page with unvetted randos. I'm seriously totally confused over the freaking out because this is how Facebook works across the board.
Personally, I find the odds of someone stalking another poster in a shopping group pretty small but if it's concerning, don't join!
I don't think you're doing anything wrong AT ALL here with the Facebook page (except selling LLR to begin with). I am definitely team you on the business/privacy thing because you're being straightforward about it. I just think the people who have joined are not thinking things through - it's not the random who loves LLR they need to worry about, it's the people who will try to join your group to get IRL contact info for the other members. And yes, the odds of that happening are good to excellent. This is different than me liking, say, the Urban Decay webpage because the others on that page have no motive to retaliate against me IRL, whereas here, people do retaliate. It's not your fault, you've been very clear about your position and, as it happens, I agree with it. I just think anyone willing to take that chance for a pair of leggings is being moronic.
The context of this is actually really ironic . . . Isn't this LLR post the same one that was happening when the Reckoning started?

Not everyone was up in arms yesterday and the difference, to me, is this is a choice. Once your FB friends with one MLer its kind of over anyway.
Shit, I'm friends with like half a dozen. It's just a matter of time before I end up in someone's basement.
I have no concerns over people here knowing my name. It's fairly common and I have no job for anyone to call or wedding venue for anyone to cancel or H for someone to tattle to.

Joining a Facebook group *through* a link on a public message board and finding your private Facebook group post screenshot and posted on a public message board or blog are very very different. I'm not upset than someone warned people here but the expectations of privacy in those scenarios seem very different.

I just really disagree that the odds of someone 1. Being able to get contact info through my group and 2. using it to "retaliate" against someone from the boards is "good to excellent." I can't think of anyone who has joined who's even remotely inflammatory. I just am chuckling at the thought of someone with a vendetta just PRAYING their would-be victim has joined my page so they can exact their revenge.
If someone feels like this is a strong possibility, they should also not be FB friends with anyone from this board as again, profile pics & names are visible when viewing a profile.
ETA: people always seem concerned about "random lurkers" but I really don't think they tend to be a problem. So it's not like PMing me for the link would help.
There have always been people on ML who have gotten off on finding people real names and contact info. One poster's employer was contacted after someone sent a group email to coordinate a gift exchange without BCC'ing recipients. People used to do surveys on here that asked questions like "what was your first pet's name?" "What is your birthdate?" trolling for information that could be used to identify passwords. So yes, I think there is an excellent chance - especially now that attention has been called to this- that people will try to use your FB page to get identifying info about other posters.
I do not disagree that people are also taking risks by being FB friends with other posters, but: (1) the cost/benefit analysis is different; (2) it sounds like this is a pretty big group, which makes it a bigger target; and (3) I could be wrong, but I read your prior posts as saying you're not going to be selective about access because the whole point is exposure.
Again- I don't think you've done anything wrong. You have been totally upfront about wanting exposure and not lead anyone to believe that you're keeping the page private. But I do think anyone who thinks there's no risk here, or even just a minimal risk, is fooling herself.

Through the link to your group one can click on your facebook page and view your friends list. Any GBCN people who are your facebook friends can be identified. But I'm going under the assumption that if you've friended people from GBCN you aren't worried about being discovered.
Wow, first post I read since joining this forum is 12 pages over love/hate leggings. Lol. I just Heard of it three months ago when a friend of mine started selling it. I usually go with the solids occasional a mellow print but to me it takes a lot of guesswork out of getting dressed in the morning and still looking decent but you have to be very selective And yes they're very comfortable not just leggings either. I think the business that is going on now is the top of the game she took a $30,000 profit Last mo. After 3 mo.in. She's crazy about it and also has 200+ people on her sale site. But I don't see it as a normal MLM to me it looks like a full-time job because I know it is for her but she's in while it's hot and making the money pretty smart if you ask me that you go to have the energy, which I don't!. LOL

The first post you read just happened to be buried back on page 20? LOL
Looks like 14 pages sorry. And now sorry I said anything.
Meant whole thread. I don't lie I just passed on what I saw. Her husband built her a little store in the backyard. I've seen inventory and checks. But if my first responses are that I posted wrong and another that I'm a liar then I'll leave peacefully. Wasn't and shouldn't be a mean girls club. Now continue your FB war for another 20 pages.
