I had trouble with in-store returns of maternity items - but that was five years ago, when they didn't carry any maternity in store. It's worth a shot!
Hmm okay worth a shot! One of the items is a maternity coat that is so insanely huge it would be ridiculous to ship back. Thanks!
I returned lots of maternity stuff by mail. You just go to the website and print off the return label to ship back. Most times I picked usps and just stuck it in my mailbox. If you open their bag right you can use the same on and reseal.
A lot of maternity is mail only. They are pretty strict with it, at least at Gap. But like sierramist said, returns are free. Just print the label from the website, reuse the packaging and your mailman will take it.

I return online ON orders to store on probably a biweekly basis and have never had an issue! (I usually go to Belmar)
it is not online orders, some things you cannot return to the store they are return by mail only. It tells you when you order. Mostly it is maternity since a lot of stores don't carry that.

I'm pretty sure this is the description for the coat I bought. I've returned stuff by mail before but tossed the stupid bag before trying on the coat. The store that I would return to has maternity so if they say no then I know it's not an option.
It's worth trying to return at the store. There's always a section near the clearance that has online purchased returns for resale (and Maternity sale).
I've seen a lot of maternity stuff on the sale racks because they were online returns. But most of the stores by me have a maternity section. Even if it is tiny. Definitely worth a shot.
At my store you can return whatever from online, as long as you're alright with the refund going back to the card you used to purchase.
Awesome! I was going to try the PM location. Do they put mail only as the return because most places don't carry maternity?
I believe so. Customers are always surprised we have a big maternity selection when they come in because it isn't standard. I hope they don't give you any hassle!
