DH and I finished his first race ever! 34:39 and he felt good the whole way. I was of course in the height of my glory, LOL. Now we're showered, the bird is in the oven, and the snacking has begun.

Finished my 12k in 1:12. Not super happy with the time, but it was a gravel trail and had some steep hills. The altitude messed with me a bit, too. Not used to running here!
I will have to agree with clseale and everyone else that said the 6k is just a long sucky version of a 5k (paraphrase). We had to start at the back, so the first two miles we dodged a lot of people, but we ran negative splits!
I managed to PR by 8 seconds but I need to work on my mental game. My friend paced me for the first 3 miles and I was averaging a 8:18 pace. Then I got tired, told him to leave me because I knew he wouldn't let me slow down. I'm pretty sure I need to race more.
I ended up running 9, then picking up DH and DS so we could do our turkey trot. It was funny, DS laughed the whole time that "daddy running". DH wanted to make sure we did a 5k, so "make sure we do 3.3 miles". Ok you non runner you . So 12.3 total for me. Now to eat everything in sight!
So many awesome turkey trots today! Congratulations, ladies!
30ish miles + cyclocross intervals DONE. Christmas decorations DONE. Now for a nap! (Only 6 more weeks to CX Nats and I can be done with intervals. I'm so over them.)
SUPing was stupid fun. I even did some yoga on the board!
al320 happy to report hot cousin is still hot. And still doesn't have a girlfriend
Just geographically inconvenient lol
Turkey trot went exactly as planned. I figured id end up with 830s (its hilly and always a slow race bc of the crowds, plus otf yesterday), and as per garmin i came in at 42:26 (its 5 miles), so pretty dead on?

Congrats on the PR! Short races are truly SUCH a head game. It hurts a lot in that last mile especially, and I'm pretty sure I have yet to realize my potential at 5K because of it!
