This is such a great idea and very thoughtful, Jenny.
(psychmom is your anniversary coming up? Right before Christmas? I don't know whether to say Bravo or what were you thinking? lol. I have three grandkid birthdays between November and December. I don't need money. I need time and ideas. lol.)

I think this has already been suggested, but I would recommend everyone donating to one big bucket and then having it get distributed evenly. That's more work, but it stays fair and even.
And I think it should stay anonymous to avoid what LHC's mentioned. Because, let's face it, people can be dicks. We know people are appreciative. Thank yous aren't necessary.
But I'll give either way. I think this is really nice.
I think this is a wonderful idea, I know its hard to trust but sometimes you just have to have faith that things will get to the people that really have need. I have seen some wonderful things happen on here, mean girl rep or not! I know this isn't exactly a religious group, but I'm praying for this - and that people that can step up, and that the people that request actually need it. I've been there, and know its hard to need and ask for help.

With regard to the iPad raffle, we were also give a choice. You could get a refund or have the money you gave be a tax deductible donation (since purchasing raffle tickets is not tax deductible.)
It's okay if ML'ers ask questions or to have concerns about this lovely venture. There is no right or wrong answer. If someone has a question about how this is going to work, it doesn't mean they are stingy, etc. Everyone can do what they feel is the right thing for them.
I'd like to back up jenny1980 regarding the iPad raffle. I got a quick refund with no questions asked. She was jenny-on-the-spot. Ar ar ar.

Anyone generally spouting cynicism and trying to tear down a nice thing. In general.
Ftr, LHC wasn't doing that, she just wanted point out that other people might do that. Lol.
I'm glad it didn't detract people from contacting Jenny. That's all that matters.
I never directed it at anyone in particular because I was trying to simply lighten things up. so anyone taking offense needs to pull the stick out of their ass.
