My best guess would be Rubio. Cruz would be interesting only because I have some evangelicals on FB that have a serious hard-on for him and his ability to bring God back to the White House so I'd kind of like to see their heads explode (they're the same folks that excused Josh Duggar's molestation as "curiosity" but the porn and Ashley Madison stuff was too sinful). I actually think Cruz would be smart enough not to go screwing people not his wife while he's running, though, but maybe I give him too much credit.
I think it would have zero impact on Jeb! or Trump's campaigns. It may just be an extra hammer in the nail in Jeb!'s campaign coffin if it's him.
For me, personally, I really don't think it's my business what happens in someone else's marriage. The running on family values hypocrisy is what bothers me. I think I expect a lot of politicians have cheated or have marriages of convenience for political gain and we can't be privy to everyone's marital arrangements.
I'm excited for the day when we elect an unmarried POTUS again, if it ever happens.
You guys, Trump's big advertising point for himself over the other candidates is that he doesn't need/hasn't taken anyone's money/isn't beholding to anyone else's interests. "You can't trust Jeb! On such and such a date he met with these LOBBYISTS!!" "So and so is in the pocket of special interests. He took money from LOBBYISTS!" Sleeping with a lobbyist kind of changes that.
Blind gossip gives hints. They made a point of saying its a lobbyist like it would change something. Trump is the only person who would lose face for screwing a lobbyist mores than a woman of any other occupation.
you know this would only really be scandalous if it is Bernie Sanders
Trump has been sabre rattling about not being in bed with lobbyists (pun intended) from the beginning. I bet it's him.
And then he'll be like, "So what? I've had affairs before." And then America will shrug its collective shoulders. And America better damn well shrug its shoulders over Trump having an affair because as I mentioned above, he's said a lot of terrible things already that have not hurt him in this race at all, so for a stupid affair to bring him down...well, I wouldn't know what to say to that except we (collective "we") need to get our priorities straight.
ETA: Your follow-up post gives me pause though. HMMMMMMMMMMM.

But see, I get Cicero's point re: lobbyists, but we've barely seen Melania around and Trump doesn't really talk about how happily married they are and how committed to family values they are (unless I've missed comments about it?). So to that part of the blind gossip, that is one point against this being about Trump.

Also, didn't Trump just go on about being happily married in response to the Daily Show segment about how he wants to bang Ivanka? I feel like them throwing "happily married" in there is important since it's not like any of these fools are going around admitting to any marital flaws.

I would be with you on this except that the post said "Needless to say, this accusation will raise all kinds of questions about impulse control, judgment, honesty, integrity, and vulnerability to influence from special interest groups… as well as their portrayal of themselves as “happily married” and committed to family values." - I don't think Trump portrays himself as happily married and committed to family values. Maybe in the last few months? But he's never been faithful to his wives. This has to be one of the evangelical types.
An admission of an affair with a PP lobbyist is probably the only thing that could get me to watch the debate tonight. Somebody tag me if that happens.
They called Charlie sheen having HIV like a year ago.
Theyve called Fallon being a coke head for at least two years.
The only one I'm not sure about is there was a hint about a year ago that T swift was pregnant and had an abortion. We've never seen that one publicized (and I'm glad it hasn't been).
Would anyone be surprised if Trump had affairs?! He's on what? Wife number 3? He's a Wall Street business man. Don't those types have affairs for lunch? He's not a holy roly and his campaign has been about xenophobia not family values. Maybe if he was banging the lobbyiest from MALDEF?
It's probably either Cruz or Rubio. Rubio seems more likely.
I don't really think the voters will care. These are many of the same people who support Josh Duggar. They're okay with molestation and affairs, as long as you ask Jesus for forgiveness afterwards.
So I'm sure whoever it is will do a big "Jesus forgives" speech and his supporters will be all "Jesus forgives him and so do we!" Blah blah blah. Same shit, different day.

In Christie-related news, I find it hilarious-yet-alarming that my LEO friend is vehemently anti-Hillary for 2016, and he's pledged that he'll vote for whoever the GOP nominee is - even if it's Trump. Because Hillary is the debbil and Trump isn't THAT bad. (ETA: And I'm positive that he doesn't even understand what people are even mad at Hillary for ... he just peppers "emails" and "Benghazi" into random sentences.)
Meanwhile in the 2009 NJ gubernatorial race he was all, "OMG, Jon Corzine sucks, I love Chris Christie, he's so awesome, I can't wait for him to defeat Corzine." And then within a week he was complaining about how badly Christie was treating cops and now he absolutely loathes the guy. Did you not learn your lesson the first time, dummy???
"Game Change" was the name of the HBO movie about Sarah Palin, so I'm going to guess it's about another Tea Partier. Ted Cruz. This would make sense because of the recent discussion in the GOP about a possible brokered convention. Rubio would make more real life sense, though.
(Insert Will Ferrell as W saying "Rubio/Cruz - sounds like a Miami Law firm!)

But what kind of power would the lobbyist really have? An affair between a lobbyist and a businessman is a bit of a snoozefest. It only makes sense as a big deal if the affair creates a conflict of interest like lobbyist and legislator would.
Power to do something inthe past, no. But every debate and every speech made he does make a big point of how lobbyists and special interests would have no part in a future Trump presidency because he has nothing to do with/doesn't need them. Plus he has really been talking up the happily married angle as of late.
