The past few years, H has wanted to open presents early or one present at each of our family Christmases, but this year I'm sticking to my guns and trying to make our Christmases special for us. I think we're going to open then on the 23rd after we get off work for break but before we travel to my family's.
When you do and SO open presents?
Do you have any other Christmas traditions just for the two of you?
We always open our presents for each other when it's just the two of us. I enjoy it a lot more than during the chaos of present opening with the rest of his family.
My SD always stays the night and we do breakfast and presents with her in the morning before she heads off to her mom's. Sometimes DH and I open in front of her, but I prefer to do it alone once she is at her moms.

We stay in Christmas Eve, drink wine and watch Nightmare before Christmas or Die Hard, just the two of us. (Which will wait until after J goes to bed.) Then we open our presents just the three of us, at our house, before going to my parent's house. My FIL and his gf will be here for Christmas Eve dinner, so that may be an extra late night, lol.
H and I spend Christmas Eve with family. Christmas Day we don't go anywhere/see anyone/talk to anyone. We open presents then spend the day on the couch watching Christmas movies and drinking wine. It is amazing.

DH and I open gifts Christmas morning. We usually have coffee and make cinnamon rolls and then leisurely open presents. I like it.
Other traditions: In early Dec., we pile into the car with our dog and drive through our city's festival of lights. It's pretty awesome.
On christmas Eve night, we all get in the car again, listen to Christmas music and drive around the neighborhoods looking at house lights.
The last two years, we have also taken a whole weekend to go on a cookie-baking extravaganza. It's a lot of work, though, so I think we're skipping it next year or greatly toning it down.
