Has anyone ever done the portraits at Sears for their kids? I got one of those postcards in the mail for a free 10x13 portrait with no session fee and it expires Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead this week and take baby over there. I got amazing newborn photos one by French Fly Photos and am definitely not expecting anything great, but hoping they will at least be somewhat decent even though when it's free, you get what you pay for...
We got our announcements done at a Target Portrait joint, and they weren't amazing, but they were pretty good. If it's free, and Baby is in a good mood, what's to lose?

I was just thinking of doing the same thing at jcp. I think it depends on the photog you get, how good your pics will be. I would try to avoid scheduling on the weekend so they aren't rushed if the baby is not cooperating.

There is a reason that their packages are free. They are CRAP photos, crap photographers, crap cameras & their whole set up just sucks. I took Lila there for her monthly photos because they always gave out free stuff. Everything was out of focus, they don't know how to lay backdrops so there isn't lines going across the image, everything was stained. I don't think I ever ended up paying for any photos because everything was always messed up.
Use JCP. They use the newer cameras, the lighting and colors came out beautiful for Lilas Halloween photos.

I've only done one of those chain portrait sessions for Maisy's 6 month pictures, but we went to JCP. Of course they can't compare to the amazing photography from the sessions we've done with Dawn Haas or Macy Ryan Photography but for what they were we were really happy with what we got. We searched for coupons online and found a 50% off with no sitting fee, so it was really inexpensive as well.

This makes me happy to read <3
I took Macy to JCP for her newborn photos (before I was handy with my camera) because we received a coupon and I have to say, they weren't bad. I mean, if I took her to a newborn photographer they photos would have been better, but honestly, I can't complain about JCP. We only needed one photo for her announcement and we got about 5 to pick from. We did go on a weekend, so the session was super short.......maybe 10-15 minutes, so I would suggest going on a weekday where they probably have more time to spend with you.
Also, be sure to post what pics you do get! I love to see all these growing babies
I bought a Sears groupon & just used it for D. They did suck. The photographer was terrible & the pictures came out horrible too. I will never use them again.

I decided to make an appt for tomorrow so we'll see! it is totally free - no sitting fee and a free 11x13. So really I have nothing to lose and it gets us out of the house for a bit.

Update -- I took him today and it went ok. The girl was super nice, but Blakey just wasn't in the mood for modeling. He smiled maybe twice. But whatever, I picked out one photo for my free 10x13 and it was cute enough. I definitely did not want to pay for any of them but for a free photo it was fine.
