We stayed at POFQ earlier this year but walked over to the POR pool area. It's a beautiful resort!

When are you going? If it's during a time a discount historically comes out keep in mind that POFQ is usually not included in discounts. Might make up for the $200 difference

I have been switching up ADRs for our trip in May and trying to decide when to buy our park tix. Seems like the price has gone up the past two Februaries. Should I just buy now?

I feel like you can always count on them increasing. So I think I would if you can swing it.

Has anyone piggybacked a trip onto a work conference? What are the rates typically to add a few nights to your reservation? We are looking at the Beach Club in October.

Usually you can get the conference rate for up to three nights before and after the conference dates, sometimes longer. We had a separate number to call (group reservations). They even said I could book a second room for family under the conference rate, which surprised me!

In the fall. And yes, I was keeping the discount in mind, which will essentially make it a wash.

I have never stayed at POFQ, but I really hate all of the Mardi Gras stuff.

I was not impressed by POFQ other than the room (not building) layout, and the pool area felt "young" to me even though my kid is only 4. Everyone talked about how compact the resort is but we had the absolute furthest room and it was a haul to the lobby/buses.

So I would choose POR.

Thanks! POFQ just looks....kind of garish.

We loved POR. I did switch. Yay!

And the waterslide is lame if you are older than 3. We love a good waterslide.

It'll just be me and my husband so I don't care that much about the waterslide. But the whole POFQ pool looks lame. And the food court, OH MY!

While the food court was ugly, I did like its size.

The food there is good too. Beignets are delish.
