My post from the CEP discussion:
We watched and enjoyed it. I loved that they kept the original opening, and I love that Mark Snow came back to do the music. Makes me all warm and fuzzy and nostalgic inside.
What I wanted to know was why the hell Scully kept coming out of that damn OR covered in blood spatter? I think something is up with those no-eared kids.
And I couldn't take Joel McHale seriously. I just can't.

DH and I were also making fun of the blood splatters. I don't know what they're doing here...I think they shouldn't try to pack so much exposition into one episode and also try to contradict 9 seasons of the previous show. They should focus on the Mulder/Scully relationship with just a little plot. But, TBH, given that X-Files was my first fandom and I was CRAZY into it at the time, I'm pretty "meh" about the revival. I still don't entirely understand what happened with their kid and all (they sent him away 'cause magic powers?). It had a good run. There's a lot of shows I wish I could get more of, but X-Files wasn't really one of them. (ETA: Wait, there's another episode already? I only watched the first one, because football messed up the taping with our DVR so we watched it on Hulu).
picksthemusic I loved that they didn't change the opening. cuddlyevil I thought they were reshowing the premiere again so I missed like the first 5 minutes it. Dh also said that something like that about the blood. dr.girlfriend I don't remember at all what happened to their kid. it's been so long since I have watched the series.
I liked it, didn't love it. It felt like to much was going on in a jumble up way. I remarked a few times why is she covered in blood? I mean who walks around with blood all over there neck? It really seems like they are going to do something with the kids, not sure what. Seems more Gov then alien conspiracy
