It's our dream home for the next 15 years lol. We absolutely love our house, but after the kids graduate high school we are moving to a warm climate. Also our house requires a lot of upkeep and has a lot of stairs, so won't be good when we are old Condo living in Hawaii 2031 here we come!!

I like our house a lot, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's my dream home.
We have been in this house for so long (almost 10 years) that we're finally in a position to be able to do upgrades. Last year we did most of the kitchen, and we're in the process of finishing that up now (new fridge, floors, etc.). There are a lot of upgrades that we still need to make, to the master bath, carpets, etc. that we would like to do, but the kitchen was the biggie.
We are sort of half-assed at decorating. We have family photos up and that's pretty much it. No art, few artful touches -- I mean, it wasn't until this year that we replaced the cushions that came with our couch with something more decorative. I'm not very DIY about it and buying stuff that looks nice can be expensive, and it just hasn't really been a priority. And there are a lot of bits and pieces that are less than ideal -- we could use another bedroom for when our girls want their own rooms but I still need my home office (right now they share and the third upstairs bedroom is my office), and pretty much everything storage-related is just sort of minimal and bare-bones.

I like it a lot. I think the location is great. I love the neighborhood. I love the exterior, and like a lot of the interior. We plan on renovating the upstairs (complete layout change), the kitchen, and both bathrooms. We are also discussing adding a detached garage. It actually did check almost all of the boxes when we bought, but its old and was in our low budget, so we are stuck fixing past owners' mistakes. With all that said, its a 2 bedroom house, so we'll see how I feel when kids are in the picture.
I wish we could move. We have no yard for the kids to play in. The driveway is dangerous and sort of like a cheese grater, if they fall off a bike, it's an automatic need for stitches. It's a duplex and we're right on the main drag. The traffic noise is very loud. The whole valley funnels into the intersection right below our house because it's right near the on-ramp to a highway that takes people to Silicon Valley.
We are VERY lucky to have this rental because we're paying way under what we should be. It's in a excellent school district and centrally located. We can't afford to buy a home in this area, small 2 bedrooms are going for around $700k and we can't swing that.
It will be as close to my dream home as I'll ever have when we finish making some changes. It's bigger than what we needed/wanted, but was the best bang for buck that I had seen. A few fixes and a bunch of paint & I will love it.

1. It's too nice for someone like me, I am not fancy. 2. It's awesome. 3. It's too nice for our dirty selves. 4. I like it a lot. 5. Did I mention that we are slobs?

We bought a crapshack to coin a term used by another MLer. It cost us ~$330k on a block with five homes that have very recently sold for well over $1million. We've renovated it from the bottom up, and as of next week, the only thing that will be original is the upstairs bathroom, which I hate, but can't be re-done because of the layout (we're going to go up eventually, and the stairs will have to go into that bathroom area, so it's not worth re-doing it now).
When construction is finished next week, I will LOVE the layout of our house, at least relative to what it used to look like. But at the end of the day, it's still 2 bedrooms too small. We don't want to move because our neighborhood is great, but we'll need to do something in ~5 years. Hopefully we'll have figured out how to save (ha!) or borrow $300k by then.
I despise it. We made a huge mistake when we bought it, it's been nothing but trouble and a total money pit, it's way too small for us since K came along, and there are very few days we both don't regret buying it.

I am between liking it fine and loving it. My house has an amazing layout, an amazing yard and it's part of a great neighborhood with things like a women's club and lots of kids. On the other hand, we are on a main street since we are on the outskirt of the neighborhood and there is a lot of work I'd like to do, but don't have the money. It's also a 5 bedroom and we have been dealing with fertility issues so it's a constant reminder of that. Eventually we will have kids and save up money to make the changes we want.
I like it a lot, but I love the neighborhood and the friends we have made here. Our first year, if H had the chance to move elsewhere for work, I think we would have been very happy to do so, but now we have made great friends that it would be tough to leave.
I would love to update our bathroom and hopefully we will be working on the kitchen this spring. Also, I wish we could change out the crazy squeaky floors.
My apartment is okay. The building is old and the walls are thin. Insulation sucks so it's either freezing in my apartment or burning up. But rent is affordable, it's in a safe neighborhood and I have a parking spot. I plan to stay there until I buy.

I love our house. Sure, I wish it was in a different area of SoCal, but until we're millionaires, we have to compromise in certain areas. Making it our "own" has been a lot of fun.
I don't hate it or even necessarily dislike it, but I can't wait to move. I need more space. In fact, my dream would be, like, a 5,000 sq. ft. house even though it will only ever be me, H, L, and a future second child. Give me space!
We bought our townhouse in 2008 before we were married. It was fine then, but now that we have a kid it's too small. We're running out of room and we have no yard. I'm hoping that we can sell in the spring and buy something we really like.

I can't wait to sell it. It is such a money pit and the outdoors is like an acre of wild kingdom. And then, of course, there's the real tears I cry when I think about how much we paid for this place and how much that would get us in so many other places.
It's not our "dream" house, but it's our forever house and I do love it. The neighbors are awesome, we are close to downtown and family, and the schools are great. Plus, it was gutted and redone, so I love that it's a old red brick house in an old established neighborhood, but the inside is completely new. When we were looking my H really wanted a master bath, but I didn't see the point in moving outside our area for a toilet and a shower. We settled on our #1 area but no master, and now I wish this house had a big nice master bath. There is room to add one someday, so we may do that. I would also like an attached garage, but that was one of the other trade offs for our area. I do love the house though and I get happy to come home at the end of the day.
I lovethe location. Like if we could do a new build on our little spot of land, I would probably never move. But it was built in the early 70's so it has plenty of issues that a NEW build would not. The floors are freezing. The Master is above the unsealed garage. The attic needs to be re-blown (ha) with new insulation and SEALED. That house leaks air like a sieve. The finished basement has some wetness/water issues. The master bath is about 10' long by 3' wide. It is TINY. I need some more space! DH doesn't like that the main floor is all of our living + entertaining space combined. He's prefer separate floors. I get it.
But we live where I always wanted to live. We have a full 2-car garage and a fully finished basement with tons of storage and a 4th BR down there. There's no bathroom or window in that BR though so it doesn't "count" in the grand scheme of buying/selling features.
We live in a 2 BR condo. It's fine for now. I like a lot of things about it (not least of which, the mortgage payments LOL). We are looking at real estate, though. The immediate reason is due to location--H's commute is a beast from our current place, but moving 5 miles away will save him 30-60 minutes a day. And eventually we'll want more than two bedrooms.
