That's awful. I didn't follow the background or read the posts that have been referenced as causing lots of issues lately.
But I feel sorry for SMO. I feel sorry that someone on here has been harassed IRL (or on here for that matter). I hope that person leaves because this is not what we are here for. We do not welcome people who harass others.

If she reports this, she should make sure to print out the discussion that precipitated it so there is a record about what the package was sent in retaliation for. Obviously, the part that is scary isn't the gummy dicks, it is the idea that the sender is saying "I know where you live." And there's a threat inherent in that- an attempt to intimidate her from participating on GBCN, which is especially problematic given the nature of the discussions.

I don't know that the FBI would investigate this; ordinarily I would think they wouldn't, but adding in the racial element and the use of the mails, there's a chance they might. The statute I quoted above is federal hate crime legislation. At the very least, the local police should take a report and that should help with release of the credit card and email from the candy company. I don't know if this will work, but that's where I would start.
