Mine are all done, but not filed. I'm waiting on a 1099 to arrive. I knew all the info, so I went ahead and entered it, but want to confirm before filing. When are 1099s due?
I thought they had to be sent by 1/31?
W2's need to be postmarked by 1/31. 1099's have until middle of Feb.

Just filed this weekend. We're getting back $1500 between state & feds. I even upped our withholding to Married + 8 last year! Crazy, but that's what happens when you are a single income family and don't make that much (which is funny because on paper we're doing really well, but if you look at the #'s you'd be shocked).
What a mess here. We have to file our own (still waiting on brokerage statements), FIL's 2015 and one for FIL's estate. I am racing around the house this morning trying to make sure I have everything I will need to send to the accountants before we leave for temporary housing in the morning. Shoot.me.now.
Some of my forms won't be available until March (I'm in Canada) so I've barely started. As in, I have an envelope that I'm collecting forms in as they come in the mail, but that's it.
Same. I have no forms yet apart from things like DD's gymnastics class which I got when we registered. My goal is always to do my taxes by March break.
We are basically done. We are just waiting for a TIN for our LO. The adoption hasn't been finalized so she doesn't have a SSN yet. I didn't realize that I needed to file TIN paperwork so I just did that. I'm hoping it doesnt take too long.
Filed today. Smaller refund than I normally get but I'm cool with that. I changed my withholdings last year to take that money and put it in my 401K (my employer matches dollar for dollar up to 65) and my 2nd job doesn't withhold anything due to the small amount on the paychecks so I was really nervous that I would owe.
The money will essentially go to my mortgage escrow shortage and then maybe a pedicure. Oh the joys of being a single adult.

It is on the docket to take care of this this weekend. I have no idea what our taxes will be like between dh starting a new job and being on unemployment. I am not convinced he did his witholdings correctly, so I am afraid we are going to owe.
I have not, but H and I were talking about it at dinner last night and I remembered that part of the reason are taxes have been so terrible the past few years is because he was working in one state while we lived in another. That wasn't the case for all of 2015, so I think I might be nervous for nothing. I am going to start putting everything together this weekend.
I just finished ours and we are netting a 7K refund. We honestly had no idea how ours would play out, had another baby, I quit my job to SAH, DH got a promotion and a raise. We normally get 2-3K refund, so this was a big surprise. Nothing too exciting planned, need to pay off some small medical bills from DD3's birth and put the rest in savings.
State refund was deposited this morning!!! <) :Y: (high5)
I checked the bank expecting to see very little since the mortgage payment was supposed to post and instead there is a nice, hefty balance. That is always a nice way to start the day.
I filed mine yesterday. I am getting almost $2800 back, which is the largest refund I've ever received. I think this is largely because my income sucked the first quarter of the year.
BF is getting back around (a little over? I forget) 2k so that's an exciting boost to our joint account. I think we're going to pay off my car and then stick the rest in savings (I owe around $3500 on my car).
Still waiting on a couple of W-2s - we updated previous employers of our new address but I am guessing they sent it to our previous address and the forwarding on that has ended. If we don't get them by Friday we are going to have to contact them to have them resend.
We won't get our stock info for another week and we will be filing as soon as possible as I am anticipating a sizeable refund this year due to the adoption tax credit. As we are looking to buy a house that extra money is very useful.
I started....we owe a LOT bc DH was unemployed last year and then when he started his job, he put the wrong amount on his W4. We are waiting until April 15 to file

I just got my W2 yesterday and I'm itching to start them. I like doing them, assuming we don't have to pay a massive amount of money. But, DH hates when I take over, so I'm trying to restrain myself from jumping in and filling it all out without him. He hates doing them, but wants to be involved. It's easier for him to sit with me than to explain things after the fact - we speak totally different languages when it comes to explanations and we both end up frustrated. I suspect we'll owe a little bit, but hopefully less than last year (close to 1K). I'm hoping to get started this weekend!
ETA: I had DH sit down with me last night to do ours. We owe again this year. Only ~550, but still. The first 4 months of this year have been/are going to be hit with similar expenses and I'm over it! Over 2K in abnormal expenses between January and April and none of them are vacation. Dang it!!
We'll owe state and local, but net about $800 because of our federal refund, which is pretty decent. With me starting a new job next week (in a different state), next year will be another learning curve as I figure out withholding - and I just got them pretty well figured out this year!
I started, but then we moved and I don't have internet yet so I haven't been able to finish. I got a 1099R that shows they paid Federal and not State taxes, so I could come close to owing because of that. Grrrrr.....
After years I'm finally to the point where I get very little back. I did like the huge refund, but it has other uses during the year.
H I think filed already. He reported that we'll get back like $2K from Fed but owe state like $600. I'm happy....last year we owed several thousand because of capital gains.

I think we have everything we need. If my estimates are correct, we'll owe about $1200 for federal. Boo! Need to look at our withholdings to see what we can adjust, I guess. I feel like we always owe on Federal every year. We usually get a refund from state so that helps balance it a little, but I hate owing!
Started and hoping a brokerage company pulls a 1099 for old old stocks out of thin air (see other thread). I'm just putting off filing because those stocks are giving me anxiety.
I started. I was all excited because I estimated the amount of DH's 1099 income based on last years. Which gave us a $4k refund. Then DH called me with the correct info. Now our refund will be around $1500.
Okay, I just punched in all the info I have so far. I guessed right that we should be getting money back, a couple hundred less than last year since we didn't adjust our withholdings. So far, so good.

I filed mine Friday night. Both federal and state have been accepted. I'll be getting back just over $2500 because it's my year to claim DS. I get back around $1000 when I don't get to claim him.
We're going to owe on state around $50 but get a federal refund in the neighborhood of $5k. I'm still waiting on my statement from my IRA since I did a conversion and I have to enter in our vehicle taxes. I'm proud of myself, I found an error on DH's W-2 and emailed him about it so he could ask HR. Turns out that he got an email late yesterday about it explaining the error and correcting the W-2, but I'm proud that I caught it!
