So what you do if you want to support your niece, friend, daughter of the sister of the family that lives down the street or whichever adorable little girl you can't refuse but you don't like the cookies is buy a few boxes for the troops. Unless you consider that torture to our troops. They get the satisfaction of "doing a good job selling cookies" and making their 55-75 cents per box for the troop and winning horrid little prizes and you don't have Thin Mints stuck in your freezer for all eternity. You don't even have to touch a box. Girl Scouts does all the work of sending it out for you.

You shouldn't have to freeze a cookie for it to be tasty.
I don't freeze them to make them tasty I freeze them so I don't eat them all in one sitting. Hellerrrr.
Not you (we posted at the same time my response was to others in the thread who like them frozen best).
My favorites were samoas and then thin mints. Even better was the girl scout cookie ice cream. Now that rocks. But it's been years since I've had any of those so really I'm just bitter gluten free sufferer. lol
But if you did, you couldn't resist. One neighbor's daughter is SO PAINFULLY SHY and she came around and poor things ears and face were so red. She was reading and stuttering from her index card, her little sales pitch. Voice shaking. I bought 4 boxes. Can you blame me
I'm prediabetic.
And honestly I have very negative associations with girl scouts if you want to get into the deeper reasons why I avoid supporting them. When I was growing up, the girl scouts at my school were horrible to me. It has stuck with me.
We buy from our niece only because we love our niece.

You are a stronger woman than I. Only 4?
I'm much worse. I buy from my granddaughters enough to get them to a certain prize level (I'm being meaner this year and buying less but it still turns into something like 50 boxes. Lol.) Then I buy a box or two from our table sales so the girls have something to snack on at the end of the shift (or even during if it's slow.) And every time I pass the little Daisies (the kindy and first graders in the little blue vests) during booth sales I have to stop and buy some, even if it's only for the troops. Thank goodness booth sales is only a couple weeks. It's the season I avoid grocery shopping on weekends.
I'm a sucker for anyone in a uniform. Must explain the Navy ex-husband.

They have a gluten free cookie now, apparently. I asked my neighbor to get me a box!
Depending on the bakery yours might be different but, the gluten free ones we got this year were REALLY good. They are my new favorite even though they cost $1 more. They are oatmeal, peanut butter, choc chip.

I don't like them anymore and I bought 20 boxes
I am putting together a large platter of them for the Super Bowl this weekend, and I am bringing boxes to Mexico to share with our house keeper, chef, and house manager (we're doing a VRBO.)
My favorite were Lemon Chalet, but apparently they were discontinued. This tells you how often I buy girl scout cookies.
ETA: LOL they were last sold in 2011.
They have two new lemons out...one per bakery. Ours (Little Brownies bakers) does Savannah Smiles which is a crisp drop cookie with a dusting of confectioners sugar. I love them. The other bakery does a lemon sandwich cookie (which I would love if we could buy from them.)
Little Brownies gluten free is a butter toffee called Tofffee-tastic that is actually pretty good. It's a toffee cookie with a consistency somewhere between shortbread and a smooth oatmeal, with bits of butter toffee.
It's either Nabisco or Keebler that makes most of the same cookies and they cost a lot less. They have different names but if you look at the picture on the package you can tell which GS cookie it is and they are available all year.

I don't know how much truth there is to it, but a lady was yelling me last weekend that GS uses the same production plant in Southern Illionis, at least, that makes Keebler cookies. So yes, they are the same cookies there.
Dh has been super disappointed the past few years that they seem to have changed the peanut butter sandwich cookies because they no longer get soggy when you dip them in milk. Quality has diminished for sure.

Yes I think the thin mint ones are grasshopper or something similar
