I'm so sorry. The wait between the doctor saying the word cancer and finding out staging and treatment seems like an eternity. Try not to let your mind go to the scary and worst case scenario places (easier said than done I know). A good friend of mine's father just finished treatment for cancer in both lungs and he is doing really well. Prayers for your family.
Big hugs. My uncle has been living with inoperable lung cancer for three years. Chemo shrunk the tumors amazingly and his quality of life is good! (He actually still works full time.) It's a scary diagnosis but it really is amazing the progress that has been made.
First off, I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. Secondly, don't try to do it all at am home. This is extremely heart wrenching. Your H needs to do whatever he can, around the house, to help YOU, because it's not easy to juggle being in like 'care taker ' for your mom possibly and keep your family normal as possible <hugs >
