I pick Dean. Jess is an ass and Logan outshines her. I think she is her best self with Dean and she inspires him to be better. Maybe he went to college, has moved out of SH and is crazy successful. Maybe.

Dean was the WORST. I think Jess and Logan were both awful when the relationships started but got much better as the series progressed. I picked Logan but would be ok with Jess too. Although I cringe slightly because of how much I despise Milo Ventimiglia.

I'm team Logan.
My Grandpa's name is Jess so I feel like I should pull for him. I actually floated that as a potential boys name but DH nixed it due to GG. Does anyone know any other male Jesses in real life? Apparently my Grandpa was named after the midwife Jessie. He was my Greatgrandma's 15th kid and an unexpected twin.

I feel like if someone posted here about getting back together with her broody, high school boyfriend who moved across the country without a word to her about it (while they were still dating) the response would be a resounding "Girl. No."
Yes, he was in a better place later, but I like them better as friends.
I actually think I would pick Dean, only because I think he was the best guy overall in his kindness to her. Really tho, I want someone new. I think each of the guys served a purpose in her life, but I think she would have outgrown them all by now (I hope!).
I sometimes wonder if other people were watching the same show as me.
Team Logan, ftr.
Jess was so similar to Rory. He was misunderstood by everyone else and they had so much in common. She brought out the best in him. Logan brought out the worst in Rory. She went from modest, humble, small-town Rory to the kind of Rory that lives in a penthouse and carries a Birkin. She was living so differently than how she grew up. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, but I liked the old Rory. And really, anyone saying that Logan treated Rory better than Jess must have been asleep through most of their relationship.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

She had already turned into someone completely different. I don't think it was Logan, but rather a mom, grandparents, and town who felt she could do no wrong. Long before she met Logan, she justified sleeping with a married man with "he was mine first."
I think a lot of the Jess love has more to do with their IRL chemistry because they were dating.

And Dean- ugh.
Yes.
And lol that Rory was misunderstood. She was so spoiled, and she walked around like she owned all of Stars Hollow.
What kind of boyfriend just leaves without a call or note or anything? Then calls and hangs up over and over again like a child? That's pretty dickish. #overinvested

This happened to me in my 20s and probably plays a role in why I prefer Logan. My boyfriend of 3.5 years (from age 24 to 27) broke up with me by just not calling me anymore, or answering the phone when I called, or replying to any emails. But, he would routinely call my office and hang up when I answered. I think it was his way of assuaging his guilt to ensure that I must be "okay" if I was at work. Asshole.
I actually never saw season 7 and really phoned it in watching season 6 of GG (I'll get to it some day, I swear!) mostly because I hated Logan and how much Rory's character devolved while she was with him.
April didn't exactly motivate me to tune in, either, but really, Logan and the person Rory became while she was with him were just awful.

Logan grew a lot in Season 7 though. He still had big flaws and made a couple of really bad choices, but he also took steps to first work at his dad's company as he was told and also to branch out and develop. He went from being more passive and acting like he had no choice in his life to making decisions and plans.

And I didn't know he was such a dick IRL.
I meant that Jess was misunderstood but Rory was one of the few that got him. Never said she was, because I agree with what you said.

I think the opposite. Jess often wouldn't call when he said he would leaving her hanging, got mad when she didn't want to have sex with him, moved without telling her, shows up again with no word, chases her down the street, tells her he loves her, and runs away again! Nobody got time for that. Once he "won" her away from Dean he treated her poorly. She wasn't always that great to him either.
With Logan, I think growing up being forced into a role he didn't want, did not want to tell Rory what to do with school and had a feeling she would work through her issues herself and return. He was being supportive as she went through a tough time. He was there when she needed him (nowhere to live, when her grandpa had a heart attack) and would often drop everything to be with her. He was also honest and would talk through issues with her. I also think Rory was drawn to the wealthy lifestyle independent of him, more through exposure by her grandparents. It wasn't him that made her that way.
This makes it sound like I'm crazy for Logan, which I'm not haha. I'm fine with her being single. I found Rory to be insufferable at times so I'm not overly invested in who she ends up with.

I went to school with one. He was one of my first guy buddies/ friends; haven't seen him in forever but we're FB friends. Thumbs up to the name; I was always a fan!!

I think it's pretty difficult to compare an 18 yo high school senior and a 24ish graduating college senior in terms of maturity though. A lot of shit happens in those years. I'd pick grown up, wrote a book, owns a publishing company, and convinced Rory to go back to Yale Jess any day. We just didn't get to see enough of him since the planned spinoff never happened.

Sorry, I was quoting someone else who said that. I was agreeing with you!
